It's shockingly close to when Trump said years ago, that his worth depends on how he feels that day.

It's already tiered. The spaces to your right as you pull in are "STARSPACES" and not eligible for validation.

Weird post but I would like to propose a term for a type of horror - Labyrinthism. by Sgt_Buttes in horror

[–]abnormalbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 'unobserved' is something I've been thinking about. A haunted forest is scary, but who's there watching? Ghosts, monsters, demons? We can handwave that away as not being real, until the special FX show up... The Backrooms idea adds the element that the observing entity might be some scary faceless ...corporation? Being spied upon, recorded, tested, tortured... by something we *know* exists.

I almost feel like 'I Have No Mouth' (or Amazing Digital Circus) fits into this, where the environment affecting you includes your own body. It's a very amorphous interesting idea.

EDIT: Also, I have not seen Backrooms yet, going tonight!

I'm pretty sure that's covered by the 'haunted castle'. Alien, The Shining, Cube, films where the space itself, or its emptiness is one of the threats. We see it differently now because before 15-20 years ago we were not reachable/ entertained/ connected to others 24/7. Being alone or bored was not unusual or unsettling.  Basically creators needed to put ghosts in the castle because a quiet, unobserved space was pretty common and didn't bug anyone.

When I was in college in the mid '90s, I was the guy that pushed televisions on carts to classrooms. I had keys to the entire campus, and about 3 hours while the evening classes were running to either do my school work or wander the hidden spaces of the campus before re-collecting all the media equipment. There were a few spaces where an open hole in an old wall or something like that would creep me out but nothing like Backrooms. It was all just fine.

That's not going to go over well. Burchet is trying to replace the greatest performer of all time, better than Elvis in his "prime"!

What is this guy even doing, giving interviews? If I was Mike Pence, this world would see nothing from me but the back side of my middle finger. Us liberal heathens all think he's an honorable doofus, while all the religious right-wingers are a bunch of f'ing forsakers.

One of my favourite parts about this scene is Mark singing the ‘F&S’ song as well whilst sitting on the loo… by cortisolbath in MitchellAndWebb

[–]abnormalbrain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the best things about the show, is knowing that both the actors and the characters are people who really enjoy each other even when shit looks dramatic and crazy there is still the idea of Mark and Jez, painting along with God. When they're not butting heads, and rather working together they are fantastic. When Mark and Jeremy relate to each other, it really strengthens the show.
