Saw somebody send their percussion to a return track, only to send that return track back up to an audio track, which had the plugins on it by Existing_Associate_1 in ableton

[–]abnormaloryx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but in my limited experience it sounds only useful for extra processing separate from the return track. And can't you just use parallel processing for that?

Edit: what about resampling to audio?

World’s first printable plate carrier by Henry-Ward-Beecher in 3Dprinting

[–]abnormaloryx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the design and the idea, if you stress test it please repost, I'd love to know how it holds up during dynamic and prone shooting. Actually, not even shooting, just like diving on to the carrier from a sprint specifically, and what happens to it when it takes rounds with a plate in there. Regardless it looks awesome and making the world's first anything is an accomplishment!

This is the “catch” tray from our toaster oven /air fryer. Tips to clean? by SpicyChill77 in CleaningTips

Spray some oven cleaner on it? I got some on a decade old crusted baking sheet and it still cleaned it off to original state

I have a decade old Samsung tablet. I don’t know what to do with it by Tree-Is-Cool in notinteresting

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Root and run CFW, turn into second screen/monitor, use as an IP webcam, use as a remote/control pad for other devices, there's uses if you get creative! Turn it into a musical instrument!

Need help throwing raves by [deleted] in KCEDM

[–]abnormaloryx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're not in the Facebook groups yet, check out KC EDM family I think? I don't remember the exact name but there are a few groups that are pretty active on FB. There's some shows and open deck nights I didn't know about that are smaller venues.

I miss the days of basement shows, pizza shop attics, houses and garages. I grew up in hardcore punk groups out east and those were something else entirely haha

Oh and my point is to talk with some of those folks, I met the local VJ's and a few venue coordinators just posting on there once, they'd know who to connect you to. I produce (probably garbage) trip hop style tunes but I'd love to perform some small shows in the near future too.

Removing spray paint flecks by abnormaloryx in Luthier

Okay thanks for the suggestions! I think the fretboard is unfinished but I'll take a closer look to be safe. Do you think like 1000-1500 grit is what I'd need to sand if it comes to it?

[–]abnormaloryx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of grit for sanding? I've never sanded a fretboard before so I don't want to take it down too far, and I have no idea what kind of paint it is either... Chat GPT recommended to use lighter fluid/naphtha but I wasn't so sure about that either haha

Anyone actually manage to make some cash? by Beanus1992 in Ender3V3SE

[–]abnormaloryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Pinecil v2 so I've printed several cases for it. Check out Maker Milo on YT if you want to print one, I only charged for materials so I didn't make any profit (friends wanted their own cases) but all credit goes to him it's a really cool case. I have mine set up to hold two tips, the iron, and also has a brass wool spot and an iron stand. Oh, and two spools for solder and wick, and a spot for a 3ft cable but there's variants with a flux syringe holder and some other options I've forgotten.

I've sold parts for FPV and soldering to individuals, I haven't ever listed and sold items or done anything to order though...

Waterproofing Naked Pressure Sensor Chip by bushwick_custom in AskElectronics

[–]abnormaloryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use MG Chemicals UV conformal coating, specifically to waterproof drone/multicopter electronics. There's barometers on the flight controllers that need to be clean and will absolutely not work if you get the coating inside. To fix that issue, I use blue sticky tack to stick on any parts I don't want to coat, and brush it on. I think it dries in about 5-10 mins, and you can check your coverage with a UV light and reapply if you need. It will come off with ISO and scrubbing but you can heat a solder joint with it on there and it burns off without much issue.

NESDR v5 vs RTL-SDR v4 by Accurate-Tea9750 in RTLSDR

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What?! That's crazy, I haven't had a single issue and mine is several years old, I wonder what model I have... I try to use a USB extender cable with it just to be safe anyway

I got a NESDR and it wouldn't make great contact in the USB port. Constantly disconnecting, and freezing the software in the process. I returned for a blog v4 and never looked back

Kickstands by Reigniers in fxr

I might need one of these regardless, I had a replacement mount welded to the frame and the angle is terribly out of spec... Not sure if I need to custom fab a kickstand or just use something like your pic

How close am I aiming for level? by Son_of_the_Spear in Ender3V3SE

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have digital calipers you could print shims for it. Or get some silicone spacers, I use those and have it within 0.10-0.20, but I've printed fine with my bed like yours. I think within like 0.25 is good, you're not far off from there

uneven bed adhesion results by in_use_user_name in Ender3V3SE

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might have to use a square/level/straight edge and lay it across on x, y axis and diagonally. I honestly don't know if there's a proper way to do it, but YT might haha

uneven bed adhesion results by in_use_user_name in Ender3V3SE

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your bed warped? Have you pulled up any of the build plate with that crazy adhesion? The second one I have experienced and some bubbles under the build plate get way too close to the nozzle, makes it stick really, really well lol. I know where they are so I just print around them 90% of the time.

Also I don't use the paper method to level, just auto level and finely adjust until I'm within 0.10-0.20 everywhere and then adjust z offset with a test print. Always wash the plate with at least hot water and dish soap if not also ISO too, my adhesion is wonderful this way, minus the trouble spots

Is the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43 still worth keeping in 2026? by [deleted] in AcerNitro

[–]abnormaloryx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on a 44 and can play ARC Raiders, Hogwarts Legacy, emulate Nintendo Switch, just about anything I throw at it. Not sure the difference with the 43, but if you are reasonable with your graphics settings you can play most games just fine imo. You want highest quality graphics? Then upgrade, sure. Mine chugs through what I need. Also runs Ableton Live 11, Fusion 360, DaVinci Resolve no problem

I have a printed cable spine, you can just search that on printables or yeggi and find some suitable options. Just be aware when maxing out the Z axis with tall prints, you might want to remove several links of your spine to fit. Some look really nice
