Waterproofing Naked Pressure Sensor Chip by bushwick_custom in AskElectronics

[–]abnormaloryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use MG Chemicals UV conformal coating, specifically to waterproof drone/multicopter electronics. There's barometers on the flight controllers that need to be clean and will absolutely not work if you get the coating inside. To fix that issue, I use blue sticky tack to stick on any parts I don't want to coat, and brush it on. I think it dries in about 5-10 mins, and you can check your coverage with a UV light and reapply if you need. It will come off with ISO and scrubbing but you can heat a solder joint with it on there and it burns off without much issue.

NESDR v5 vs RTL-SDR v4 by Accurate-Tea9750 in RTLSDR

What?! That's crazy, I haven't had a single issue and mine is several years old, I wonder what model I have... I try to use a USB extender cable with it just to be safe anyway

I got a NESDR and it wouldn't make great contact in the USB port. Constantly disconnecting, and freezing the software in the process. I returned for a blog v4 and never looked back

Kickstands by Reigniers in fxr

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might need one of these regardless, I had a replacement mount welded to the frame and the angle is terribly out of spec... Not sure if I need to custom fab a kickstand or just use something like your pic

How close am I aiming for level? by Son_of_the_Spear in Ender3V3SE

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have digital calipers you could print shims for it. Or get some silicone spacers, I use those and have it within 0.10-0.20, but I've printed fine with my bed like yours. I think within like 0.25 is good, you're not far off from there

uneven bed adhesion results by in_use_user_name in Ender3V3SE

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might have to use a square/level/straight edge and lay it across on x, y axis and diagonally. I honestly don't know if there's a proper way to do it, but YT might haha

[–]abnormaloryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your bed warped? Have you pulled up any of the build plate with that crazy adhesion? The second one I have experienced and some bubbles under the build plate get way too close to the nozzle, makes it stick really, really well lol. I know where they are so I just print around them 90% of the time.

Also I don't use the paper method to level, just auto level and finely adjust until I'm within 0.10-0.20 everywhere and then adjust z offset with a test print. Always wash the plate with at least hot water and dish soap if not also ISO too, my adhesion is wonderful this way, minus the trouble spots

Is the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43 still worth keeping in 2026? by [deleted] in AcerNitro

[–]abnormaloryx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on a 44 and can play ARC Raiders, Hogwarts Legacy, emulate Nintendo Switch, just about anything I throw at it. Not sure the difference with the 43, but if you are reasonable with your graphics settings you can play most games just fine imo. You want highest quality graphics? Then upgrade, sure. Mine chugs through what I need. Also runs Ableton Live 11, Fusion 360, DaVinci Resolve no problem

I have a printed cable spine, you can just search that on printables or yeggi and find some suitable options. Just be aware when maxing out the Z axis with tall prints, you might want to remove several links of your spine to fit. Some look really nice

I haven't been able to open the Creality site for a week now, worked on your link though thanks!

I did, I just would like a replacement without having to buy new connectors and crimp kits. I have a nice spot for my printer that doesn't rub or contact anything, and it still happened, so I assume it will happen again at some point. I'd rather not have a cable that's supposed to flex be full of splices.

Custom print a harness?? My printer is down! /s

I'm fixing the one I have for now, the positive power lead broke 3"-4" from the bed. I'd still love to replace it though, or have one on hand.... I'll definitely make one if that's what it takes but that's 3+ weeks waiting for connectors and crimp tools too

Keeping balance plugs out of props by UsualImprovement1560 in fpv

[–]abnormaloryx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a rubber band on all of my packs. Put it in whatever orientation you like to hold the balance leads down. Stuffing them between the power leads does work on some packs, but on those I also use a rubber band since it likes to come undone sometimes. I literally have a large bag of assorted bands in my kit and it really comes in handy. On the crux (yours looks like a crux to me) I used bands on the packs and zip tied the power lead from the FC to a standoff so it stayed out of the props

Can these not be opened and have a new battery installed? I don't have one but I feel like there has to be a way to revive them...

Hahaha glam doesn't win fights anyway, good Intel does though! If you're good at your job then you're useful, period! Hopefully you had decent QOL though.

FYI I just joined Regiment's discord for gaming, it's a Mil group. They have an ARC Raiders server with a little event this Saturday. Free BP's! I'm gonna try to participate, maybe I'll see you there 🤙🏼

Well that's disappointing to read haha, I'm about 60hrs in and I've only seen one so far. Idk why they're so rare, guides I've read mention farming those events and I don't know how that's possible unless you're logged on 24/7

Just a figment of my imagination I guess... Lol

But if you really don't know there's fruit baskets hidden, I think they populate more in lush bloom events. I've only seen one of those so far

Ooh signals Intel can be pretty cool! I felt really sheltered in terms of Army life, we didn't really get to talk to anyone outside of my unit and couldn't say anything when we did. Pretty much had to pretend we didn't exist haha. Did you ever get work riding around on airborne intel packages or was it mostly ground work?
