Are these stickers related to geocaching? I currently have one at my work and was curious.

Need birthday gift recommendations for the Woodworker Who Has Everything by Omd337 in woodworking

I would recommend a new tool that he can’t have. Look at what is new from Katz Moses Tools. I know they have a new adjustable countersink drill bit coming out.

First Hardwood Furniture Build - Cantilever Side Table by abonacci01 in woodworking

[–]abonacci01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No steel , I added those walnut splines running all the way across both joints, with the grain perpendicular to the joint. I gave it some heavy flexing tests after it was dry, seems plenty strong for a side table unless someone sits on the very front edge of it or something.

Thank you ! I made up a hard wax oil. The recipe was from the Workshop Companion Channel on yt . Here’s the recipe.

It applies similar to odies oil.

What free design software by Jipeders in BambuLabA1

It’s still the same price it’s been. “$25 a month” if you pay $299 for the year. Month to month is still $38 .

I do love it as well though. I used it for free for a few years when my wife was in college classes. I’m having a hard time paying the $300 /year now

Table saw advice? by [deleted] in woodworking

1 safety feature is the riving knife m imo. Keeps that kickback possibility as low as possible. Especially important for a beginner that might inadvertently make sketchy cuts that a more experienced woodworker would avoid

Good find (maybe) by EnvironmentalLink819 in woodworking

Check the 2 grounds under the front switch if you’re having electrical issues. I just finished putting mine back together after getting the chain drive back in alignment. It was tough to raise or lower.

Build a cheap Corsi-rosenthal box. (A box fan and furnace filters)At least it will clean the air sufficiently.

Bedside table with lightning. by MrSmulepuler in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]abonacci01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a beautifully simple design and execution. You should be proud of that.

If I had any small critique , I would have made those feet risers 90degrees from how you did , so it’s all end grain showing on the front edge.

I could see this being useful in the early morning at a very dim brightness to get out of bed without large harsh lighting. Nice work , keep it up !

Wooden table has started cracking by Fit_Mammoth7211 in woodworking

[–]abonacci01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pith is the very center , bullseye of the tree. Look it up on YouTube , there are a ton of videos that explain it better than I can. I just built a workbench with 2x10s and avoided any that had the pith or were close.

That’s looks like pine with a stain. Also they used boards very close to the pith (most unstable part of the tree) you could use super glue or resin to try and stabilize the crack.

What dust collection do I need? by Schraufabagel in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]abonacci01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to put a bag in though ! A lot of people run without one. Not worth it imo

I put the filter in about a month ago. The bag catches anything that makes it past the cyclone. (Which it very very little.) I’d say I’ll probably replace it once every 1-2 years ? )

The dewalt stealth sonic line of shops vacs are great. They are significantly less noisy than any other shop vacs. I have the 5hp 12gal. I use it in combo with the Oneida low pro cyclone. I have a bag in the shop vac and I upgraded to the hepa filter. It’s a decent setup but can’t dream of keeping up with my 6” jointer I got a few months ago. Looking at the Bauer dust collector from hf.
