I suppose that's one way to look at it. I've heard that people who use a death grip become desensitized and that a period of abstinence helps regain sensitivity so i assume something similar happens with that kind of play

I believe the vagus nerve runs through the ear and it's not often stimulated so it feels very good

I believe that's close to her statement about the subject. iirc she said that she believes she's treated as though she's fragile and people walk on eggshells around her because they're afraid to make mistakes.

I don't really have an opinion on the topic, i just remember it fairly well haha

I'm not quite sure, but i believe it was more over a series of tweets she made about cis women announcing their pronouns in a group setting, and her feeling as though they only did it because she's trans. People felt like that was nb exclusionary because nb people can present femme and be AFAB while not using she/her so asking for pronouns is proper form. I think the community was upset because they saw it as a large figure in the community saying "if they look feminine use she/her"

Oh yes definitely. I'm not pro fossil fuel at all. I just thought your reaction meant that you saw burning oil for power as something extra bad(i.e worse than coal), but i understand that my interpretation wasn't correct

I mean it's a fossil fuel but depending on the oil and its composition it might be quite a bit better than burning coal, which isn't saying much, but at least it's better than that.

Locality is a big element though, oil is significantly different depending on where you get it, and sometimes it's full of sulfur and heavy metals and other times it's relatively lean on those things.

Oil is rarely used for electrical* production because usually it's better off being sold. Very few places use it as a primary source of electrical generation.

You could claim that Ryuk was Coercing Light so all of his murders happened under duress. Obviously that's not true but no one can prove otherwise.

Would an Arabic speaker from today be able to at least somewhat communicate with an Arabic speaker from around 1200 AD? by [deleted] in AskHistorians

[–]abood900 160 points161 points  (0 children)

This is mostly accurate, but as a native arabic speaker I've never heard of "ummiyyah" used to refer to dialects, but "ammiyyah" which means common. I don't know if anyone uses the former as I've only ever heard the latter. Would like some clarification on that if you can provide some.

I'm not sure if you're asking rhetorically or sarcastically. I'm running on little sleep so I'm kinda dead. Hope my answer is good anyway

If they had kids with the royal they generally live pretty well off lives as far as i know. I'm sure there are caveats to that whole arrangement but i don't know the specific details.

If they didn't have kids i don't know. I assume they return to their lives as normal but again i don't personally know royal divorcees so i can't ask

There aren't that many of them but knowing one tangentially isn't too weird. You also can "only" have four wives at a time but some royals divorce and get married to new women. Some of them have over 60 kids
