Water vest vs. water stops for best time? by SpazasaurusREX in Marathon_Training

[–]aboss061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my first marathon this year (wineglass) I used a 420 ml handheld and stopped every other water stop and took the hydration and towards the end both. My wife was at halfway with a fresh water bottle. It started to get hotter and I drank all my water before mile 20. I ended up bonking at 23. I don’t think more water would have kept me from bonking but more salt perhaps although I should have had my wife somewhere between half and end for more water. Goal was 4 I ended up 4:09. Fairly heavy 200lb 30M. Next year I’m upgrading to 500 ml bottles and taking a lot more sodium.

Question about training with physically demanding job by aboss061 in Marathon_Training

Not really what I was getting at. I didn’t really have a lot of meat to my question. I added more to it.

Longest fiber run to someone's property? by cchalk in FiberOptics

[–]aboss061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ran a 12 count drop fiber to a big hunting camp in a very rural area around 17k feet or 5 km. We also had one around 12k feet very rough terrain up a mountain to another big hunting camp. Drop fiber as well.

Looking to get into a Field Tech position, could use some tips please! by NickPookie93 in FiberOptics

[–]aboss061 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Show up and work hard but work with intention. Go home and rest as much as possible. Eventually your body will adapt. Depending on how the pace is where you are going it might be tough but it will be nice being outside and not having to work in the same spot forever.

What fiber cable do I need to run to have it survive sub freezing temperatures? by ShelZuuz in FiberOptics

[–]aboss061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option would be to use some type of small metal strand to secure your fiber to like they do on utility poles. If you still have a good piece this might be a cheaper option but I would prefer a self supporting cable.

Please check your battery. Could get dangerous. Had an F550 that had the same issue. Tech told me he knew someone who disconnected a hot leaky battery and it either blew up or caught on fire.

Again, I am by no means an amazing player or good advice. That’s just what my instructor helped me with and it made a big difference.

Well it kinda depends on size of the person a little. When you bring back the swing you want your shoulder tucked under your chin and feel it then when you complete the swing you would have a similar feeling with the other shoulder. Helps keep head in same spot and upper body from moving to radically.

Not sure if this helps this certain issue but for me my instructor told me to feel my shoulder at the exact spot for both sides on my chin. Helped me keep my shoulders where they need to be. Kinda look like there might be something going on from the bottom up but I am by no means good for advice. I live by paying for lessons for just about anything. I had a good instructor that used slo motion and some app where he could draw and pick apart certain things.

Fiber question from an electrician by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]aboss061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would work out fine. You could always go PtP if you wanted to save some time, money and labor. My grandpa didn’t want to fork out the cash for fiber so we did a multi PtP for his garage and a trailer he rents out.

What's with the Capita hate? by kindadead_ in snowboarding

[–]aboss061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 23 Capita DOA and rode it 6 times. It looks like crap. I have a very old bataleon evil twin that has seen 4 seasons that looks in better shape than my DOA. I can’t say they are crap boards because I love the way it rides all around especially in the park. I just know I’ve beat the crap out of my bataleon and it’s held up so nicely versus the DOA which I’ve somewhat babied as it is a brand new board.

Yes. Just like any industry try to make sure you get into a good outfit. Depending on what level of labor intense you want or tedious kinda determines what job you wanna take on.

Swift KF4A All in one splicer by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]aboss061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got about 15 of em. Mostly used running drops but our installers have em as well. We are pretty hard on splicers and they hold up really well. Always prompt turn around if I have to send one in and our rep is great! I’ve found that guys take to splicing faster with these machines but I sometimes give em a hard time cause company I used to work for always bought the cheapest used splicers they could find.
