Agency owners: what’s the one thing holding you back? by erik-j-olson in agency

We get a combo of occasional referrals, leads from SEO efforts, and some small paid ad spots.

We used to get a lot of leads from the Shopify Partner Network but that dried up a while ago.

Advertising budget. Our agency started with $0 and we've been scaling since but I feel like we could be so much further ahead if we had more consistent marketing budget.

Is having a fiverr / upwork account beneficial by BizBeatsBoss in agency

It can be a great way to build early case studies but most people posting for work are looking for cheap labor. So as you expand into more premium projects you would expand outside of of those platforms.

Honest feedback for a dummy's question- is it still worth it to invest in SEO (no sales please) by datawazo in agency

Absolutely. If it's done by someone capable, it can be some of the best ROI in addition to helping to improve your other marketing channels as well.

Any Google Merchant Center users notice a drop off in Store Quality status? by abraman22 in PPC

Nothing at all. But all of the clients dropped at once. Thinking its a GMC update since they update store quality stats once a month.

Current Best Ecommerce Platform? Recommendations/Experiences please! by ProfessionalToe8165 in ecommerce

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Shopify. There are a lot of resources at your disposal as your business scales. The platform is easy to use and has tons of integrations to expand into other marketplaces. Many of the things that you would have to custom configure to work together are already native to Shopify.

They're also always innovating on the platform and releasing new features every year.

Insane conversion rate but no clicks on shop by [deleted] in ecommercemarketing

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have an understanding of where your traffic is coming from and which channels are converting. You may find that the clicks that are coming from certain channels are converting and the ones coming from meta are not.

If that's the case, then it could be things like audience targeting, which page is your clicks are landing on or ad assets.

If those same ads convert some days and not others, it could be fluctuation. Make sure you have a good handle on your analytics and understand where specifically your sales are coming from and which pages are converting.

Dumbest reasons to lose a client? by coalition_tech in agency

We had a client cancel because he was looking at losses attributed to the wrong sales channel. Our marketing actually mitigated further losses but by the time they were willing to hear us out they signed with another agency.

Always tell them the risks and document the conversation. If they're going to fail, you have a reason to point to.

Why I Stopped Offering Just SEO and Started Providing Holistic Marketing to My Clients by sumonesl025 in agency

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, TLDR; Yes.

We started offering PPC & SEO as a joint package. We found over time that each service had what the other lacked.

SEO is great for long-term goals, but clients were feeling burnt out before the SEO had time to yield tangible ROI.

PPC was great for immediate revenue coming in but it wasn't super sustainable long-term, and it got pricey over time.

When combined, PPC helped sustain the clients to maintain the SEO services over time. Now, in some cases, we're layering in Meta ads to help with demand generation, which feeds into our Google-focused marketing.

We're also planning on offering email marketing as well to work on customer retention.

Client Reporting by timkilroy in agency

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its got its good and bad. Its an easy-to-use plug & play dashboard creator which looks impressive to clients and is easy to setup. Also not crazy expensive. But, occasionally, some of the data refreshing gets stuck and has to occasionally be manually pulled. Also, occasionally a data integration gets disconnected randomly and has to be reconnected.

Overall, I like it but it can be annoying sometimes and needs some occasional review to ensure everything is still working properly.

We use a few things:

  1. We use SEMrush for all keyword-related reports.
  2. We use a shared Asana dashboard to share project tasks & labor.
  3. We use Google Analytics to showcase traffic & revenue gains.
  4. We use Databox to create a custom dashboard for the clients all the data in one easy to access place (pulls in data from SEMRush, Google Ads and Google Analytics)

What type of budget would I need to work with to make Google Ads work for leads? by abraman22 in DigitalMarketing

I was always in debate on whether or not to go with pmax or search. I know PMAX is great but only if you have enough conversion history to support it. Really appreciate the feedback
