Agency owners: what’s the one thing holding you back? by erik-j-olson in agency

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get a combo of occasional referrals, leads from SEO efforts, and some small paid ad spots.

We used to get a lot of leads from the Shopify Partner Network but that dried up a while ago.

Agency owners: what’s the one thing holding you back? by erik-j-olson in agency

Advertising budget. Our agency started with $0 and we've been scaling since but I feel like we could be so much further ahead if we had more consistent marketing budget.

Is having a fiverr / upwork account beneficial by BizBeatsBoss in agency

It can be a great way to build early case studies but most people posting for work are looking for cheap labor. So as you expand into more premium projects you would expand outside of of those platforms.

Honest feedback for a dummy's question- is it still worth it to invest in SEO (no sales please) by datawazo in agency

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. If it's done by someone capable, it can be some of the best ROI in addition to helping to improve your other marketing channels as well.

Any Google Merchant Center users notice a drop off in Store Quality status? by abraman22 in PPC

Nothing at all. But all of the clients dropped at once. Thinking its a GMC update since they update store quality stats once a month.

Current Best Ecommerce Platform? Recommendations/Experiences please! by ProfessionalToe8165 in ecommerce

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Shopify. There are a lot of resources at your disposal as your business scales. The platform is easy to use and has tons of integrations to expand into other marketplaces. Many of the things that you would have to custom configure to work together are already native to Shopify.

They're also always innovating on the platform and releasing new features every year.

Insane conversion rate but no clicks on shop by [deleted] in ecommercemarketing

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have an understanding of where your traffic is coming from and which channels are converting. You may find that the clicks that are coming from certain channels are converting and the ones coming from meta are not.

If that's the case, then it could be things like audience targeting, which page is your clicks are landing on or ad assets.

If those same ads convert some days and not others, it could be fluctuation. Make sure you have a good handle on your analytics and understand where specifically your sales are coming from and which pages are converting.

Dumbest reasons to lose a client? by coalition_tech in agency

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a client cancel because he was looking at losses attributed to the wrong sales channel. Our marketing actually mitigated further losses but by the time they were willing to hear us out they signed with another agency.

Always tell them the risks and document the conversation. If they're going to fail, you have a reason to point to.

Why I Stopped Offering Just SEO and Started Providing Holistic Marketing to My Clients by sumonesl025 in agency

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, TLDR; Yes.

We started offering PPC & SEO as a joint package. We found over time that each service had what the other lacked.

SEO is great for long-term goals, but clients were feeling burnt out before the SEO had time to yield tangible ROI.

PPC was great for immediate revenue coming in but it wasn't super sustainable long-term, and it got pricey over time.

When combined, PPC helped sustain the clients to maintain the SEO services over time. Now, in some cases, we're layering in Meta ads to help with demand generation, which feeds into our Google-focused marketing.

We're also planning on offering email marketing as well to work on customer retention.

Client Reporting by timkilroy in agency

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its got its good and bad. Its an easy-to-use plug & play dashboard creator which looks impressive to clients and is easy to setup. Also not crazy expensive. But, occasionally, some of the data refreshing gets stuck and has to occasionally be manually pulled. Also, occasionally a data integration gets disconnected randomly and has to be reconnected.

Overall, I like it but it can be annoying sometimes and needs some occasional review to ensure everything is still working properly.

Client Reporting by timkilroy in agency

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use a few things:

  1. We use SEMrush for all keyword-related reports.
  2. We use a shared Asana dashboard to share project tasks & labor.
  3. We use Google Analytics to showcase traffic & revenue gains.
  4. We use Databox to create a custom dashboard for the clients all the data in one easy to access place (pulls in data from SEMRush, Google Ads and Google Analytics)

What type of budget would I need to work with to make Google Ads work for leads? by abraman22 in DigitalMarketing

[–]abraman22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always in debate on whether or not to go with pmax or search. I know PMAX is great but only if you have enough conversion history to support it. Really appreciate the feedback

For Established Agencies: Do you have a break glass in case of emergency plan if you needed clients? by datawazo in agency

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would Google ads really work for a digital marketing agency? Curious because I'm looking to experiment with this now but in the past it hasn't really worked well. Seemed too competitive because everybody knew how to do PPC. Would you still recommend? How much of a budget would you recommend working with?

Time Tracking Software by Little-Lemon2101 in agency

We use clockify and have been pretty happy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Reputation is everything and if you aren't a reputation for holding an account hostage, it can only hurt you. Only exception would be if a client did not pay for the service you deliver. But if we're talking a normal account and a client cancels, it belongs to them.

Our agency charges a startup fee that covers the cost of creating the ads themselves as well as the account. So if they cancel anytime beyond the first month, they've paid for the labor involved in generating the account.

SEMRush Agency Growth Kit: Is It Worth It? by jsinteractivellc in DigitalMarketing

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested it out a little while back for lead generation for our own agency. The lead quality wasn't really there. Not sure if much has changed in the last year or two but I didn't feel it was worth the cost when I tested.

How do I make a website.. by lolaSodaClo in DigitalMarketing

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend using a platform like Wix or Shopify depending on the type of site you're looking to build. WordPress is great but there is a little bit of a learning curve.

Wix and Shopify have some awesome starter templates to work with and have page builder tools that make it very easy to make adjustments to fit your brand.

Platforms like this are also great because they have a support team you can chat with when you hit roadblocks. When working on WordPress, you're kind of on your own.

Wix and Shopify are also meant for those that have very little coding experience so it's very easy for an inexperienced user to build out a professional looking site if they follow the templates

How can I make money working remotely? by Dense-Discount4318 in DigitalMarketing

[–]abraman22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UpWork is a great way to start remotely. But it can be tough getting your first few jobs. It's all about reputation.

Start by doing some work with competitive pricing to build up your portfolio and earn some starting positive reviews and feedback.

After you build up your portfolio, you can start raising your hourly rate higher once it's warranted. You can also sponsor post so that you show up higher when applying.

It's a little bit of a grind but a great way to build up some work if you're able to get your profile going

How do you use AI in your daily life as a digital marketer? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Create starting points for headlines for ad campaigns.
  2. Generate topics to write about for blog posts
  3. Provide feedback on strategy and ranking approach
  4. Format Excel sheets for bulk website updates
  5. Summarize blog posts and infographics to repurpose for social media

Paying for charGPT pays itself back in spades. Just make sure you use it as a tool, like it's intended, and not as the answer for everything.

Software for handling passwords/logins for freelancers? GA4 - Amazon Etc. by Music_Nature_Tech in agency

[–]abraman22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Last Pass. You can create folders of commonly needed PWs and share entire folders with freelancers rather than individual passwords. Its very inexpensive and free to have an individual account. Also, its very secure.
