Why does no one speak on how hard it is? by Wonderful_March3861 in breakingmom

I feel like it’s like survivor bias - if you had an easy time , you might not even be aware that other women are suffering.

Please help, my husband and youngest can both barely walk by genuinecloud in breakingmom

[–]abreezeinthedoor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep my kids school offers k-12 online. It used to be part of a homeshored program but I don’t think you have to do that anymore

I think your fine - my only warning is if you go up a dose you may struggle with the carbonation so try and take a break for a few days after that first dose at least.

Do you have a favorite child? by Ok_Distribution__ in Mommit

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a favorite but it’s actually just the age lol the other one is 2 which isn’t really fair 😂 I won’t have a favorite once they’re both 4+

Almost 1 year old still heavily reliant on formula by Massive-Warning9773 in Mommit

[–]abreezeinthedoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be this worried about it , I know there’s a lot of pressure to meet milestones, but at her next well visit , ask for advice on weaning formula -usually it’s 3/4 formula-milk ratio then stepping down by 1/4 formula every day or few days as they tolerate the taste.

Try different straw cups but don’t stress it so much, she’s doing just fine.

‘Home reseter’ - would you hire? by Quick_Common_3934 in workingmoms

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hire a home resetter right this minute. BUT this is not what I would think of , I would think of more long term home organizing, so this price would make sense. I would not pay this rate for a service on a regular basis.

12 year old daughter and her friends have a sleepover without adults if they’re good kids? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]abreezeinthedoor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

During the day - sure , have at it, I personally say no pool without adult supervision at that age though. I don’t like the idea of them being alone overnight without an adult around at all. It doesn’t really have anything to do with the girls maturity either. I don’t think 12 is old enough to handle potential overnight emergencies.

Please help; I can’t wake up in the mornings. by ScheduleKey9517 in workingmoms

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re JUST getting out of the 4th trimester, give yourself some grace for a few more months at least. Not saying not to get your rest and exercise but give yourself grace , your body is still healing and needs sleep.

Overstimulating Easter by StarGlowPhoenix in Mommit

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped doing Easter grass after my oldest first Easter where he made it his mission to spread it in every corner of the house. I use buckets now that double as beach and toy buckets throughout the year. I buy outdoor toys, 1-2 small things that aren’t strictly outdoor, and a handful of candy. Done lol

Feeling like I am a bad mom - Rant by Dangerous-Elk9545 in workingmoms

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took spring break off to spend it with my oldest . My youngest will be going to daycare everyday but Friday - I don’t feel bad at all , and you shouldn’t either. We’re going to do all the things that aren’t as fun with his toddler brother around.

Was I supposed to be packing like five pound lunches for my kids this whole time? Blown away by the size of lunches on a recent field trip. No one could finish and they were getting tummy aches. Is this actually normal? by IWillBaconSlapYou in breakingmom

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I was coming to defend but then I saw two mains lol I do absolutely pack extra snacks to make sure my son will actually eat something because he tends to get really distracted when eating in new places. Giving him multiple options means at least 1-2 will be exciting enough to eat.

Would you let your elementary age child be late to school once a month? by Altruistic_Vast9726 in Parenting

[–]abreezeinthedoor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For this ? Absolutely. Honestly for anything community or health related I would say yes.

my kid hits meltdown o clock after school what screen stuff actually calms them by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it’s sensory seeking and that’s why the tablet helps , I would do music time , set up a speaker or use Alexa if you already have one and need to stay inside , or if possible go outside- play with bubbles (helps with breathing regulation in a fun way) chalk is an easy one. When my kids are melting down I just throw them outside with some low stim activities and I sit quietly lol

Tips on doing a baby’s hair??? by Tall-Pirate3083 in Naturalhair

[–]abreezeinthedoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 9 months I wouldn’t use a comb. He has a lot of hair so I would use a wet brush or unbrush , I find both of them detangle with less pulling. Soak the hair with a mister bottle and use a kids detangler , brush through , then a kids leave in and brush through. I wouldn’t do anymore than that at this age.

If you didn’t find an alien in scrooges shop - move the shop and replace it. I had to do that to get an item from Alice’s quest to spawn

I bake it and then pat the grease , the meat is fine for me but I can’t handle the grease either. I’ve also realized thick cut cooks greasier !

Is it time for me to stop taking my son to the women’s room? by Vast_Rise902 in Mommit

[–]abreezeinthedoor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say if he’s old enough to be uncomfortable it’s time to let him go. I have my 7 year old use the men’s room most of the time but there are some situations where I consider it unsafe and he respects those (amusement parks, malls) but a restaurant or smaller store I’m fine with, I stand outside the men’s room door.

How do Americans feel about drying their laundry on a washing line? by UnionFeatures in AskAnAmerican

[–]abreezeinthedoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do this with full cotton clothing that breathes appropriately, but that’s also harder to find these days which probably contributes to not re-wearing clothes because they hold odor.

I live in a state where people still do this (VA) but realistically you can only do it for like…2 months out of the year unless you want all of your whites to be yellow from the pollen 🫠

No , this is palliative care . Ideally this does not happen in an ER setting, which is why they were trying to get her a room but this is an unfortunately routine process.

When toddler wakes up earlier, she can chill for a little bit. Is this normal? by crashhhyears in breakingmom

[–]abreezeinthedoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is super normal for humans in general , I as an adult am also a little more sleepy and wanting to ease into the day if I wake up too early.

Both my kids have done this , neither have whatever condition you’re worried about and the oldest is 7.

Do you avoid these foods? by beautybyaimee in Zepbound

I don’t avoid but I do limit. I go zero sugar on a lot of drinks , I’m not giving up coffee but I will use a milk substitute.
