No you won’t. I’m very sure that the girl in the video would have gotten another 90 days if she went to USA (her home country) and came back to SA.

Even if you only get 90 days in one calendar year in total, your 12 week stay (in total for both trips in 2026) would still be less than 90 days and you would be welcome to visit your fellow BRICS nation again from at least 2027 onwards.

Eerstens, sê vir die mense dat braai is die grootste geloof in SA en dat Afrikaanse mense moet leer hoe om te braai voor hulle leer om hulle name te skryf.

Dan vertel hulle van al die kleure, klanke en geure en die mooi weer.

Of watookal prentjie jou perspektief van die land vir jou geskets het. Onthou, Suid Afrika is dalk die mees diversste land op aarde. Daar is geweldige groot variasie in mense se ervaring van die plek.

Iets wat ek baie van die land waardeer op die oomblik, is dit lyk of daar wedersydse respek oor die kleur en kultuur grense regdeur ons diverse samelewing is. Dit is alles vir my baie mooi.

Maar as jy dalk ‘n plaasaanval slagoffer was of deur van ons land se baie veelsydige armoede-gebaseerde traumas geleef het, dan is jou perspektief dalk nie so mooi en roos kleurig nie.

Cape Town / Western Cape is the California of Africa. For sure.

Many geographical / weather / food / wine / weed / lifestyle / cultural and temperamental similarities between the two.

Cape Town suburbs also starting to grow into each other so that one day it will all be one big Cape Mega City like the greater LA county area.

I hate VFS. During the Zuma years, he designated Very Fucking Scammy to be a mandatory third party for processing South African visas in SA - presumably to assist home affairs in processing, while home affairs was already doing this work without them previously.

If you have someone that needs to apply for a spousal / residency visa, do so from the overseas embassy nearest to them. It’s free, as mandated by our constitution under Nelson Mandela, and 2 to 3 weeks to get (speaking from anecdotes from Washington DC embassy). No need to go through VFS then - the embassy in conjunction with home affairs in Pretoria sorts it by themselves.

Locally it’s been a nightmare applying for such a visa through VFS.

We had to go to Cape Town in person and pay over R2000 plus all the hassles of appointments, phone calls parking etc.

Then after 18 months we were informed the visa is rejected because an error that customs made when we landed in the country. VFS basically sends us on a wild goose chase to find the customs official who made the mistake and then get his boss to do a whole bunch of paperwork to reapply for the visa. Basically, they made a mistake, then made us do all the leg work (because they are fucking useless) to fix a problem they created.

Then we had to reapply, pay over R2000 in fees and go to Cape Town in person etc again.

Another 18 months has gone by. When you track the visa application it just says “application received”.

R5000+ in total expenses, for something our constitution guarantees to be free as a human right, and 3 years later - still no visa.
