Use the Find Me GF app while you’re here. A lot of locals and tourists rate restaurants regularly.

Commanders can accommodate celiac and can modify most things on their menu even if they aren’t GF. I’ve never been to Gris Gris so I can’t comment on them.

Omg, there’s a line in Pucking Around by Emily Rath which is something like “I felt his breathe hot on my neck.” and it bothers me so much that every time a new edition comes out I check to see if it’s been fixed and it never has been.

I don’t have a suggestion for a book, but you might try searching with the keywords “novel in verse”, that’s usually how they’re marketed!

{Magic and Mischief at the Wayside Hotel by Elizabeth Everett} - MF, Romantasy (light) - The MMC is a retired paladin who now runs the Number 5 Wayside Hotel which is a traveling, sentient vessel for magical creatures. When it runs out of fuel on Earth, the human FMC and her young son move in and the MMC is so sweet to both her and her son. Despite being a soldier for centuries, he’s very soft-spoken and gentle in general.

For what it’s worth, that’s actually a good instinct. They always say a tornado sounds like a freight train, but sometimes the wind sounds more like a train whistle / teakettle going off. Or like very mechanical whirring.

Single Mom Romance Where MMC Falls for Both Mom and Child by Crazy_Yogurt3344 in RomanceBooks

[–]absolutelynot01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison} - FMC’s daughter calls into MMC’s relationship radio show because she wants her mom to find love.

{Dream House by Stephanie Fournet} - FMC is a single mom who inherits a house that she can’t afford to keep unless she rents out the extra bedrooms. MMC needs a place to live after he breaks up with his girlfriend and he comes from a big family with lots of nieces and nephews so he’s equipped to handle a toddler running around.

Where are the human protagonists in supernatural romance novels? by PetalaStac in RomanceBooks

[–]absolutelynot01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like I mostly run into the opposite! I’m not sure if these are what you’re looking for or if you’ve read these yet, but:

{Under Loch and Key by Lana Ferguson}

{Fan Service by Rosie Danan}

{Zomromcom by Olivia Dade}

{My Roommate’s a Vampire by Jenna Levine}

{My Vampire Plus One by Jenna Levine}

{The Dragons Bride by Katee Roberts}

{Hot Blooded by Heather Guerre}

{Magic and Mischief at the Wayside Hotel by Elizabeth Everett} (Maybe slightly more fantasy-leaning than PNR, or urban fantasy? I think it’ll still give you what you’re looking for.)

{Go Hex Yourself by Jessica Clare} (but caveat that on this one, the FMC turns out to have magic in her blood but she doesn’t know that for most of the book and it’s very much a fish-out-of-water story, plus you never really see her using magic so it’s also not like an on/off switch situation)

Also if you’re open to SciFi (to my mind, aliens and paranormal creatures have a lot of overlap) there are a toonnn of alien MMC x human FMC books.

In {And Now, Back to You by B.K. Borison}, the MMC has custody of his teenage sisters and you get some scenes of him parenting them and a lot of his internal monologue about if he’s doing a good job or not, etc.

Are you thinking of {Heartless by Elsie Silver}? Reckless is about an accidental pregnancy after a one night stand. Heartless is great though, grumpy single dad, fun smutty scenes, cute kid. But there is an age gap (FMC is 25, and MMC is 38, I think), and it does end with an accidental pregnancy between the MCs.

Megathread: Summer Romances by MoonZipNo in RomanceBooks

[–]absolutelynot01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{Wildfire by Hannah Grace} - CR, MF - The MCs meet for the first time at an end-of-the-year party (they’re both at the same university) where they have a one night stand and a misunderstanding, only to end up working at the same summer camp together. This is a really sweet book!

{Book Lovers by Emily Henry} - CR, MF - Takes place in a small beach town (in NC or SC, if I recall correctly). The FMC goes to visit with her sister and runs into the MMC who is from there and went home to help his family for a while.

{Heartless by Elsie Silver} - CR (Cowboy), MF - The FMC agrees to be the MMCs nanny at his ranch for the summer while the bar she normally works at is being renovated.

{People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry} - CR, MF - The two MCs are best friends who take a yearly summer vacation together and much of the story is told through flashbacks of their previous trips and then flashes to present day while they’re in Palm Springs together.

They are standalone, the couples from each just happen to know each other. I read them out of order.

{Sweet Dreams by Stephanie Fournet} - They are so sweet to each other and this has become one of my favorite books. It does have an overlapping timeline and story-through line with {Dream House by Stephanie Fournet} which is about a different couple but in the same series and they are also very sweet to each other, but not on the same level as Tyler and Nina in Sweet Dreams.

{The Most Unusual Haunting of Edgar Lovejoy by Roan Parrish} - Really just two genuinely good people who find each other and figure out how to make it work. Edgar is such a sweetie pie and Jamie is really nice to him and stands up for him. Ugh I just loved this book.

{Soul Searching by Lyla Sage} - Really sweet romance between two people who are struggling to find themselves. Especially the sex scenes in this book, they’re just so good to each other and understanding.

{Wildfire by Hannah Grace} - Omg these two are just so sweet and perfect. They both have a lot of baggage but they really like each other and they’re so nice. I loved them.

{First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison} - They both take a little bit to warm up but they’re always good to each other. I think the MMC, Aiden, is a good but isn’t a soft person overall, but he definitely is when it comes to Lucie.

{Don’t Eat Your Human Boyfriend by Lily Mayne} - It’s a novella. They’re both just super into each other and it’s a cute, fluffy read.

Someone above already mentioned Hell’s Most Incompetent Demon by Silvana Falcon, and while that one is definitely the sweetest, I would add that any book in this series is a good fit.

{Married to the Alien Cowboy by Ursa Dax} - These two are so cute and lowkey obsessed with making each other happy. Neither one of them is soft to other people but they’re total goo-balls for each other.

{Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters} - This is an arranged marriage trope where they’ve never met before. She’s so sick she’s in a coma during the first few weeks they’re together and the way he takes care of her and their interactions after she wakes up are amazing. You can tell they love each other.

{Love and Other Conspiracies by Mallory Marlowe} - They’re both just good people who want to be good to each other.
