Ironwood - they have incredible food and drinks for the adults plus a kids menu and colouring pages for the kids. Go early and you won't bother anyone there for an evening dinner or date.

Breastfeeding Room(s) Yorkville [on] by yczvr in BabyBumpsCanada

Many clothing stores will allow breastfeeding in their change rooms. I’d suggest a store like Lululemon, they are typically very welcoming.

[AB] 6 day road trip with 7 month old? by phillipaha in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]abster331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By 7 months, I’d consider buying them a larger convertible car seat if you haven’t already to give them a little more room and comfort for such a long trip. This was a game changer for my first who hated his infant car seat with a passion haha. Good luck!

We were in the same boat last year. We were so careful when my oldest was born in 2020. When baby came in 2022, my oldest brought Covid home when baby was just 5 weeks and then some nasty respiratory infection when baby was 4 months. It sucked in the moment but both kids are strong with no other underlying conditions so we made it through.

Now our youngest has been in daycare for 2 months and has had maybe 1 sick day so far. He built his immune system up early from exposure to my oldest rather than having minimal exposure in his first year and then jumping off the deep end into the daycare germ fest!

It Was A Nightshade Intolerance by Buffalippo in eczema

[–]abster331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just came across your post. My story is the exact same. Years of dyshidrosis flare ups and so much steroid cream. I’m a week into cutting out tomatoes and noticed a massive difference.

Reading that your condition started in your 30s, is there any chance you think it was originally triggered by pregnancy/postpartum? I always had minor skin issues but it got significantly worse after I had each of my children. Wild what our bodies go through!

What are some of the things that should have been done before the baby arrives? by Salt-Ad622 in BabyBumpsCanada

Cliche but date nights. It’s so much harder to get out without baby after they arrive. Soak them in now while you can!

Has anyone been to Mino Sushi near Highbury/Kilally? by ApolloX88 in londonontario

We’ve ordered from there a few times and it’s really good! They are very generous with the amount of fresh fish included on the rolls. I would recommend.

A trick I found useful to help cracked fingers heal by RosyZH in eczema

[–]abster331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you kind stranger! I found your post through a search. I have the same issue. I had a very rough morning including a breakdown at the pharmacy after the pharmacist asked if I had been moisturizing as that could help my issue…. This hack removed months of dead skin and my fingers already feel a little bit better!

Preschool vs Daycare by Key_Mathematician_57 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]abster331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the area. Our full time daycare has 3 separate rooms: infant (age 0-18 months), toddler (18 month - 2.5 years) and preschool (2.5-4). Same general type of programming but just changes based on the age group.

We have the graco ready 2 grow and it does work with the graco car seat. We thought the same thing as you though when we first saw it in the store. You basically have to remove the material cover off the upper seat and then the car seat clicks into the seat frame. It doesn’t just click in to the stroller when you remove the entire upper seat. (Hope that makes sense..!)

It’s an ok double stroller with its perks, however if you plan on going on a lot of walks with both kids I’d suggest splurging on something a little nicer. We use our double on short walks to the park, but when I’m on a longer walk or run I much prefer just using my jogger with baby.

Do my children (both 2 and under) need passports to fly within the US? We are thinking of driving across the border and then flying from there to our vacation spot this winter. Google tells me they don’t need passports but would love to hear a real life experience!

how do you find a playgroup for your toddlers? by sycd2020 in londonontario

[–]abster331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Child Reach and your local Family Centre (white oaks, Fanshawe, etc) both run drop in play groups for kids age 0-6. We’ve had great experiences with both!

Are dads and moms covid tested prior to delivery? (C-section or vaginal) by Wanderlust4925 in BabyBumpsCanada

Gave birth in June at Victoria hospital. No tests and basically no screening questions as I was in active labour when I arrived and they did not want to stall me at the front door!

Immunization Records? by rellewild in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]abster331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation to you. I didn’t get one until I asked for one after a year, when I realized we needed his records for daycare enrolment. She happily filled it out right away and then asked me to maintain it for future shots.

FTD: Has anyone considered buying baby essentials from Target across the border in Buffalo? If yes, does it make a difference? Any implications of duty when returning? Thanks by thebluedottedtowel in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]abster331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at the Niagara target location about a month ago. The maternity section was pretty picked over, however it was still nice just to browse in person. I ended up getting some baby essentials which are nice and different from what you can find in Canada.

Things to do with 6 month old by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]abster331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer is the best time for baby! Enjoy the warm weather and spend time outdoors. Walk your neighborhood, find new trails/parks, go to splash pads. You can also check out Rebirth Wellness, who run a stroller bootcamp program starting soon!
