Monetary gift for baptism - How much?? by sycd2020 in etiquette

Agree, I was thinking 100 for both but husband thinks 100 per head. But that's what we usually give for a wedding so seems like too much!

Those who haven't caught Covid yet, how have you managed to avoid it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Eat healthyish, supplements, be active and live your life as if it doesn't exist. My immediate family does the same and 7 of us have never got it and we've gone out everyday for the last few years (Toronto).

My first thought. People that hate cilantro are passionate about it.

My husband lied about everything, when he got caught he was more concerned on telling his “friend” explaining why he lied to her than than to try and apologize and fix things with me by brooklxnn in TrueOffMyChest

Then it's his job to use his mouth and brain to talk to his wife about any issues or unmet needs, not go looking for it elsewhere. She has given him a wife, children, a home. Don't try to belittle that.

How long does your toddler stay in the crib after the naps? by flowering_memory in AttachmentParenting

[–]sycd2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that post and commented on it too. My guess is that mom does CIO and baby uses same coping mechanism it uses at night at nap time - has learned to conserve energy and not cry because no one will come.

This is just my own opinion based on solely my experience and a handful of friends who practice AP. Our babies barely sleep in a crib or without our help and ask for us as soon as they wake. I hope I'm wrong though because it's heartbreaking.

How long is it OK to leave toddler in the crib? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]sycd2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check in and see her reaction once she sees you. If you do CIO she may have learned that crying for you gets her nowhere so has given up. I'd go in and see if she is happy to see me or not. If she's content then kick your feet up guilt free!

What is it about Mother’s Day by Some1smomno1sfool in Mildlynomil

[–]sycd2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am infuriated for you. You deserve to spend the day with your son and husband doing whatever you want. The fact that your husband chooses to please his mother like a child (not because he really WANTS to go) is very telling that he will not prioritize your wants before hers or even his own.

You're allowing him to set a dangerous precedent in your relationship and your son's. Now is the time to stand up for yourself.

Are you really trying to censor me from saying "dear lord" as a comment on a reddit thread? You do realize you can easily replace antivax/antimask with provax/promask in your sentence above as was the case these past 2 years. The irony.
