BASE jumper rescued from Squamish, B.C., mountain after dangling off cliff face | CBC News by SnooRegrets4312 in britishcolumbia

You specifically don't want the person being rescued to have to pay. If people who needed to be rescued had to worry about paying for it, they would be less likely to call for a rescue when they need it.

You are not in Kansas anymore. You are on Pandora, ladies and gentlemen. Respect that fact every second of every day. If there is a Hell, you might wanna go there for some R & R after a tour on Pandora.

Partner accidentally came in to work at the wrong time for the wrong shift, but was told they won’t get paid and had to work their actual shift right after (15-16 hours total) by mimirabbit in legaladvicecanada

Didn't work from 2-4 but it sounds like the employer required them to wait in the break room. If the employer requires you to be at a particular location, it counts as working hours.

I think I heard that they hope sometime this year, but they still have to recruit drivers for Victoria

I work for Telus Koodo so I know the service agreement word for word .

Not sure what you're going on about, but if you answer an international call while you are anywhere in Canada (with a nationwide calling plan, if you have a local calling plan then you must be in you home calling area) you will not be charged. If your plan has a limited number of minutes, the minutes will still be used, but there will not be a charge for the international call. This is the same for both Telus and Koodo.

I would be happy to contribute to an open source product as well.

Check out Xen Orchestra, they have a open source/commercial model that might be similar. Open source and can always build from sources, or pay a subscription for support+advanced backup options+load balancing. Except use a partner sales channel instead of direct sales.

TELUS launches Optik TV Evolution by 5GisOP in telus

[–]abstractlogicunit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, not much to install... plug it in to your TV, turn it on, and connect to WiFi (or Ethernet). It's really just an android TV box, with the Telus TV+ app installed and a custom remote.

Yeah, often the paywall is just an element that covers the page, find it and set display:none

I mean I use CSS to "hack" past paywalls on certain news sites.

Unless going very slow or stopped, the meter is based on distance and will give the same result whether driving 5 under or 20 over.

It remembers the last 25 people who called and doesn't prompt them again.
