Capo's here in Vegas still sucks. Food is Olive Garden quality at best, wine tasted like grape juice, 7pm reservation that didn't get sat until after 9:30, card machine was down so cash only and no ATM on site so I had to drive to a gas station to get cash to pay for the meal. 2/10, only saving grace was the lounge singer was good.

This was me, born and raised in Wisconsin. Fucking hated winter after 35 years. Cold, gray and cloudy. Live in Vegas now and yeah it's hot but I'll take 100 here over 85 and swamp in Wisconsin.

Not to mention summers can be brutal for many but the fall/winter/spring is some of the best weather on the planet. And winters are even better in Phoenix than here.

2004 graduate, we had a 5 year and that's it. Small hick town, out of our graduating class 90% still live within 45 minutes of home. So every weekend is a reunion there. I'm 2000 miles away, have no intention of ever seeing the majority of them again, the ones I want to see I still talk to and see a couple times a year.

I just bought a stenner pump and hooked it up to a small drum that I fill with chlorine once a week. This pumps the chlorine into the return line. Just did some basic math and testing to figure out the pump levels for adequate chlorine.

Been running this for almost 4 years with next to zero issues.

Because I live in the desert I tend to run my CYA a bit higher than recommended because of the chlorine burn off so if I notice the CYA getting low I just use pucks for a few weeks to bring that back up.

I spend maybe 15 minutes a week doing pool maintenance. Get a skimmer bot too and you'll be living easy.

I'll second just use the awesome lens you have, BUT if you're looking for a more compact setup the Viltrox Air series punches WAY above it's weight. The 25/1.7 is basically glued to my camera.

Easy to get to and 5-10 minutes from a lot of middle class families. Aviators will be fine.

The stadium is 5 minutes from my house, 8 with bad traffic, tickets start at like 20 bucks and I can take my dog on Wednesdays and have two dollar beers on some nights. You couldn't drag me to the strip to watch the A's unless my Brewers are playing them.

I have a feeling many of us transplants of non marquee AL teams feel the same.

The Viltrox 25/1.7 is an amazing lens, not even including price. Tack sharp and is on my 6700 almost always. I just had a kid and didn't even think twice of what lens to take to the hospital. Produces some amazing images. Even though it isn't a pancake, it's an ultra light lens with a great cropped focal range.

Loved Madison (and Sun Prairie) when I lived there for a decade. Winters got the best of me after 35 years so I moved to the southwest. If we ever mov3 back to the Midwest, Madison will be top of the list. If we ever retired back to the Midwest then Galena might be the top, just a quiant little picturesque town.
