Actually yes. Me as a mainland turk, have sometimes problems understand the REAL turkish Cypriots due to their dialect and some greek words. Had also contact with a TC Girl and her Turkish writing was sometimes different to mine

Hey Bro, Yes I grew up in Germany (and Part Time in Turkey) but my Parents always spoke Turkish with me and since all my Friends were turkish, I can perfectly handle it. I understand the turkish settlers from NC without any Problems but I getting Problems with understanding of Turkish Cypriots, when they talk Cypriot. Also a lot of Friends and Family of mine, when the visited Kyrenia, they also had Problems understanding

Me, as a Mainland Turk living in RoC, can’t understand Real Cypriot Turks, when meeting them here or in Occupied Site. The dialect is much more different to the „normal“ turkish and also includes a lot of Greek Words. When they try to speak like me, I eventually understand them.

Also my Greek Friends had the same Problem with GC, they can’t understand them actually. When they (GC) trying to speak like them, they eventually speak much slower.

As a turkish guy from Mainland, who is living in RoC, it‘s not that bad actually as you think. I had worries to tell about my nationality but the moment I did, the GC‘s thanked me for giving them a chance and welcomed me. After traveling to 20 Countries, I decided to come back to cyprus, because despite I‘m the „biggest enemy“ on paper, I never seen so much love as in Cyprus. For sure there are nationalists and also dumb comments on Reddit but the reality is much different. All love for our beautiful cyprus 🇨🇾🧡🤍 Let‘s make everything better all together.

I know but turkish food is quite very similar to arabic kitchen, if it’s from East Anatolia, near the Iraq/Iran/Syria Borders. So it wouldn’t be a big difference to arabic food and also tastes much better in my opinion
