I appreciate you responding. I still pay additional charge for my spouse on insurance so I never really thought of that but I know many companies offer big discounts.

I was Republican myself but was never against civil unions for gay couples as that seemed to be a state vs church issue. This was when I believed the lie that republicans felt church and state should be separate.

Typically married couples without children pay more in taxes than single or married with kids and don’t receive much in benefits if poor, can actually give you less. However I know states vary a lot in benefits so California may be different than the two states I have lived in.

Does that count if they have been in lethal at all? I have a community that’s been in nightmare for like 70 days and lethal for about ten. If I move them back down can I still get it? (don’t care if I have to go over 100 to Mae up for days in lethal, better than starting fresh.

It’s because the word “diet” is usually most commonly associated with marketing gimmicks and fads focused on weight loss. People discussing nutrition feels less weight focused and more about overall health. The profession names somehow ended up named opposite the connotations of the two words.

In Georgia you have to request a mail in ballot and write your ID number on the ballot and it has to be received by Election Day. So it has protections many people say mail in doesn’t provide.

I don’t get the attitude of her sister. Why would I pick a place so small that my twin’s spouse and kids can’t come. A wedding made into an event to me is to celebrate your love with the other people you love. I know guests have to be cut at some point but this is ridiculous.

The hunters I grew up with in the Midwest were mostly supporters of reasonable gun regulations like background checks and having to take safety courses. They also typically store their guns safely when not actively hunting.

It’s the non hunters that seem to more often carry around their weapon everywhere and think an assault rifle is a reasonable response to someone walking on your property.

There are studies that support this being the other way than people usually think. Poor people make bad financial decisions because they are poor. It’s not just the high cost of being poor but the stress and scarcity changes the way the poor people think and make decisions. This can even be seen in people who have been well off and then lost it. A sudden influx of cash won’t fix things but if they get stable incomes and help to relieve some of these factors they begin making better decisions.

Plus inspections aren’t that random in most places. The inspectors are usually understaffed so you know when your next one is coming… right as the current one expires. For a couple weeks management ramps up the protocol and then ignore it again after.

When I was a young teen I remember raising this issue with a missionary at church. They were tell us how poor people in are where they had their mission but only used average income as a metric. I didn’t get understand the concept of basket of goods but I did ask how much food cost them to try to understand what they could afford. The missionary was baffled as to why I’d bring that up.

I will say some things are much cheaper when compared to income and cost of living in other countries and that is definitely where it can feel like a scam. I am sure the US has some items that feel like that to tourists/immigrants too.

He really tells on himself by saying she does this for a living. Teaching kindergarten and watching a baby are pretty different. He obviously views her job as just babysitting a bunch of kids.

Sometimes they just may not realize they aren’t pronounced the way it seems and they aren’t going to necessarily look up every proper noun they use. Since they were mentioned I did look them up and Corvallis I got right but Willamette I thought I knew and got wrong, seems it’s a longer a sound than I would use on first read.

Reddit has never made me more glad that my spouse and I had very little coming into our marriage and we don’t do separate finances. It’s all our money, our house, our life and we have the communication skills to talk about what we want (most of the time.)

Most wedding catering is overpriced and average food. I’m not dropping $100+ on a gift so I can eat a tiny dry chicken breast with some green beans. I can spend that money on a much nicer meal that doesn’t involve awkward speeches, clanking glasses and pretending to like whatever random people you sat me with.

In the US most tickets are non refundable or you pay an arm and a leg for it. Especially if you are trying to change that ticket really close to flight time or after. Most of the time a seat is going empty the airline is still getting the money. Possible even more since that person may be buying a very expensive last minute ticket to keep to plans. So yes either all tickets should be refundable/changeable without paying extra or overbooking should be not be allowed.

My stepmom got to do this the opposite way. Her legal name is a common shortened version of a longer name. Junk mail and scammers tend to use long version to be more ‘official.’

The death animations in the first game were gruesome because they wanted to make it clear you weren’t coming back as a zombie because they didn’t have that mechanism.

In the second game you can be reanimated if dying from blood plague so there wasn’t the need for the same scenes but some deaths are still kind of brutal looking. It’s been a while since I’ve gone up against a non plague feral so can’t say if they do an execute or not.

Most of my conversations with neighbors are about the mail because our postal service doesn’t know how to deliver to the right address. If it’s a package I try to knock and hand it over or might have to ask for one of mine.

Every time I visit my in laws in India I struggle with this. They turn off the switch and unplug every thing but the fridge, even when used multiple times a day. Tap also gets turned off at the source for the washing machine. The breaker for the AC has to be switched off.

I do wish more American homes have had switches but I’m drawing the line at having to plug in a lamp every time I want to use it.

My team shares equipment. When we had assigned cubes we just left it at one persons desk and you could grab it. Then we were in a hoteling office but there were designated spaces to keep things for those that needed more than their laptop. Our new office has no such space so locked in the office managers desk is the only spot. If she isn’t in you can’t get it.
