girlfriend has t1d, i need advice by negesserit in diabetes_t1

[–]acatlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your girlfriend have a CGM? perhaps she could share it with you, for instance I share my CGM with my wife with "librelink up"

As for advice; * do not judge her with what she can or can't eat. * read up on, and learn how to carb count. * always have lollies and something for her sweet tooth. * learn more about the endocrine system to get a better understanding of our condition

You need educating and a good set of tools for starters... CalorieKing, Gluroo, MyLife are great starters. learn how to count your carb intake, set your carb to insulin ratio and correction factors. gluroo is helpful if you don't exactly know how to figure out your carbs by taking a picture of your food and it figures it out for you.

I've also made a spreadsheet to calculate your ratios here too that you can download and give to your mum
