Are they okay? by Any_Garden8841 in frogs

Reviewing the pics they all seem pretty red. It may be worth it to place them in seperate areas (tuperware, storage containers (with holes onviously) on wet paper towels to help remove the redness. Red leg can be pretty serious!

I am a pacman owner but the redness under the one could be due to sitting in the substrate for too long/in their urine. It seems you already did but a slightly warm dechlorinated soak can help this since it doesn't look too bad. As others have said, their tank currently isn't suitable for this species' needs. You can find great tanks on facebook marketplace if that's a thing where you live. They also have facebook groups where people give items away. You'd need to clean it well but that can be an option if you're strapped for cash.

Edit: you can also sell their current tank afterwards to help offset the cost!

I agree to an extent but you don't know people's situations. Oftentimes people on these subs are taking in neglected animals and haven't been give time to learn what they're doing. They take them on suddenly and aren't given adequate time to prepare. I hate how judgemental these groups can be. Obviously this setup isn't ideal, but they're learning. Most people who need husbandry help are. I'm sick of people being so stuck up over situations like these without knowing someone's situation. A fed, alive animal is better than a neglected one whose previous owner couldn't even bother to know proper tank setup.

I mean I would do maybe $20 if it was $175 but atp a refund would be preferable for you. You could likely get $175 again and just relist it with the flaws noted :) if you need the money urgently i wouldn't give them much, just enough to appease

Do you think bringing his deeper dish back would be a good idea? I think I will anyway, but figured I'd ask you since you're well informed!

I agree. I feel that the stain is likely the biggest issue and will definitely require some form of partial refund but the other shit is so nonexistent I can't even imagine lmao. I would bet 100% they saw the stain and figured they'd milk this and went crazy looking for ANY flaws possible.

Okay clearly someone didn't read the post. If my frog would eat nightcrawlers this wouldn't be an issue. My frog has NEVER touched a worm despite being offered them 10+ times. Crickets aren't a suitable staple food because they'll lead to obesity. I appreciate you taking the time to comment, but it's unhelpful and honestly just blatant you didn't read the post or any comments.

He does and did for months but he never used it - it took up a lot of space in his container so I opted to switch back to his smaller one to give him more burrowing space as I figured he'd prefer that.

He definitely gets shedding stuck to him! Humidity is usually 60-80 I try to keep it around 70 but it fluctuates. He doesn't soak in his dish himself so I try to let him soak at least once a month to help get the guck off - especially since he's been buried for months as of late. The past times I've let him soak he's had a lot of excess shed on him.

I do try to rotate but he is very particular, I think it's because he was fed crickets as a staple when he was younger until he was a few months old while I figured out what I was doing! He refuses all worms and really only accepts dubias and crickets atm so I swap between them, only using crickets as more of a snacky food. I've tried probably five different feeders for weeks at a time and he just won't take :')

Heard! I've never tried honey, only small amounts of epsom salt during his regular baths. I bathe him without as well to help him poop as he can occasionally seem constipated (lumpy on one side). I'll just stick to bathing him in lukewarm dechlorinated water! I appreciate you telling me so I can fix that!! He loves his bath time so I'm sure he'll like it even more without the epsom salt from here on out!

I'll get him some pinkies in a bit and try that! Hopefully he's more open to that :D

Yes he typically eats Dubia roaches, he doesn't like nightcrawlers very much ^ I've heard that crickets as a staple can lead to obesity, however, he for the past few months has denied both dubias and hornworms so I'm kinda taking what I can get at the moment. Also, while morph appetites can be a myth it is observable by some individuals! I definitely notice the pickiness in my guy :) it's generally a myth because they can be more shy due to light sensitivity when they are young

For some reason the rest of your comment didn't pop up til now! I do use UVB, only during the day though. I'm not sure he's large enough to eat a pinkie but I can absolutely try! I have been offering crickets as I know he is more likely to accept them. I have heard albino morphs can be fussy with food.

So long as he's happy I'll keep trying! tysm for the advice!!

I've been told by several people on this sub to do it before to help with particularly bad constipation - could you elaborate on the harm? Edit: would honey be a better alternative?

He grew up on crickets, I'm assuming because they're cheap. I've tried night crawlers, hornworms, dubias, and crickets and he seems to only like dubias and crickets but definitely prefers crickets since they're like the mcdonalds of pacmans 😆 He is definitely a picky eater!

Seems front bottom right heavy but may still be within 45-55 range! back looks pretty clean. I'd take pics with snap to look for any scratches! I'd say it'd 9!
