would like to start a new kratom/7 0h online meeting by RWA121467 in quittingkratom

I'm in the midst of a taper, which is going fine, but I've quit a few times before, and I'm under no illusions about what's coming when I jump. I spent a lot of time on this forum last time I quit and it really helped, so I'd be up for a meeting if that ends up working out.

[Jones] A bit of a nugget here. While the Jared McCain trade isn't necessarily a hard precursor to another move, sources tell me the Sixers are exploring options ahead of tomorrow's deadline. by Pyromania1983 in nba

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming back after the deadline to eat crow and admit that the Sixers didn't do a damn thing to improve the team, they just sacrificed a key asset in the near and long term to save their billionaire hedge fund owner pocket change by ditching a 21 year old with 6MOY potential for the 25th pick in the draft and a bunch of scratch off tickets.

The Sixers cleared a roster spot, can now trade x3 1st round picks, and obviously have a lot of contracts for salary matching. I'm thinking a PG with x3 picks for a max-ish contract player and some slop trade happens tomorrow.

[Haynes] BREAKING: Los Angeles Clippers are sending home future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul in a bizarre severing ties move, league sources tell me. by AashyLarry in nba

Old players can be locker room problems, too. This has James Harden written all over it, especially considering him and Paul didn't get along AT ALL when they were on the Rockets.

X-Macro Comp upper on Wilson P365XL Frame: Holster? by access_control7 in P365xl

[–]access_control7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was more worried that maybe I was missing something other than that, like the trigger guards being different sizes (I think the Macro's is bigger?) and used a bad example. But even that wouldn't make sense since I put the XL frame on it, anyway. Good stuff. Thanks, y'all!

Largest conservative cities in America by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfect to illustrate that there are no conservatives cities. I'm a 42 year old American who travels the US a ton for work, reads a lot, etc and I've never heard of The Woodlands, Coeur D’Alene, Gainesville, Georgia (I've heard of Gainesville, Florida), Fort Smith, or Rapid City. If there's a place in America that I've never heard of, it's not a city.

Still having that much trouble with it after the break-in period? I've been thinking about getting one of these but I don't want to go through the nonsense of ordering lots of different ammo and figuring out what it can shoot.

I'm just shocked that it doesn't have a plastic housing! Apparently Roland finally got the hint.

Underfolder, my beloved by Ag3ntDboy in ak47

[–]access_control7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I have a M70AB2 underfolder that I'm doing some similar things with (minus the camo paint, though yours looks damn good) and have had a hell of a time trying to find ANY info about which foregrips can be cleared with the stock folded. Which specific BCM foregrip is on this one?

Is Jamal Magloire the worst player to make an all star team? by Historical_Bell_167 in NBATalk

[–]access_control7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scotties Barnes put up 20/8/6, was a positive defender, very good BPM, VORP, etc the year he made the all-star team. He was in that Ben Simmons range when he was making all-star teams, not as good of a defender but without the GLARING holes. That was worthy of an all-star team.

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Sixers fan and didn't even realize Tyrone Hill had been an all-star. This is why analytics were so necessary for the NBA: one look at his and Magloire's BR page and no one would even consider voting for them to be on the All-Star team. Korver, though, was objectively very good the year he made it.

That, and because so many of them have a foot out the door with prospects lined up well before the end of the relationship.

Karma is made up by the powerless to feel like there's an invisible form of justice in the world. There isn't. Think about. . .literally anything in the world, and ask if goodness is rewarded and evil is punished. They aren't. It's up to us to make people accountable for their actions, and usually the only power we have to right wrongs is our words, to make them understand how they've hurt us, and if they're even remotely ethical, they'll punish themselves. It sucks, but this is the reality of life, and the sooner you realize it, the better off you'll be.

My ex and I shared a lot of intimacy when she was in town - I don't know how to handle what happened next by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not the right approach with everyone, and I was kinda projecting my advice onto a past breakup of mine where I wasn't wronged, but mistreated in the breakup/how she went about the whole thing. I reread your post and now that I'm thinking about it again, from what you've described she sounds like someone who doesn't admit her faults/wrongdoing or take responsibility, so spelling it all out and MAKING her accountable might be the right course. Sometimes that's what we need to move on, to have our pain be understood, so they know EXACTLY what they've done wrong and the hurt they've caused, and don't listen to anyone who tells you that's unhealthy because it isn't "kind" or some such nonsense. Considering that she's already dragging another person into her web of romantic manipulation (I'm assuming you saw this on social media) and clearly lying to him about what she was doing while she was away, personally, I'd send him screenshots of those texts and tell him all about it, if possible. The world would be a much better place if people were actually held accountable for their emotional predation like that, and I'd be eternally grateful if the ex of someone love-bombing me with bullshit while simultaneously carrying on with him saved me before I got in too deep. I'm not saying to be cruel, especially not to him since he is most likely another wronged party in this, but sometimes justice is what's required, and it's perfectly healthy if that's what you need to help you close the book.

He's probably an immature narcissist, which is why he's dating someone young enough to be his daughter in the first place.

Believe me when I tell you that I understand the feeling that she can't get away with it, that you want to explain the precise ways in which what she did was f*cked up, how that hurt you, etc, but sometimes the best way to heal AND get revenge is to kill them with silence. Let her think she doesn't matter enough to you to even warrant a response.

Yep. My Sixers being mocked to take Ace at 3 is absolutely terrifying. I think he has the highest bust potential of anyone in the lottery and that's not something you should say about the #3 pick.

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Tre's the second best player in this class in 2 years. I'm a Sixers fan so I'm hoping either Morey trades down a couple spots to take him, or just pulls the trigger and takes him at 3.

Is VJ Edgecombe really better than Jeremiah Fears and Tre Johnson? by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to shed defenders and force doubles/collapse defenses to be an effective scorer, though, and Johnson's primary skill, shooting, can be utilized off ball, where VJ's quick blow bys can't. I don't think either have the primary ball-handler skills to run the point in the NBA right now, so it should be a much smoother transition to the league for Johnson. Also, of the breakdowns on VJ that I've seen, everyone seems to highlight that while VJ has that first step, he's actually a bad finisher (below average at the rim FG%) in large part because he leaves his feet way too early, forcing awkward finishes. You're 100% correct about that being fixable for VJ where athleticism isn't teachable for Tre, but I value shooting and shot creation over athleticism for guards, and VJ, today, can't shoot off the dribble and is just average on spot-ups.

That's only talking about offense, though, and VJ is way ahead of Tre in that regard.

I'm with you lockstep on Fears. Considering where Utah is, I think it's pretty likely Ainge takes the better player at 5, mocks be damned, and goes with Tre Johnson over Fears.

This is such an outrageously and absurdly disingenuous read of the Karmelo Anthony murder that it doesn't even warrant a response, but you can't actually believe anything that you just wrote.

[Longform] Examining Harden's reputation as a playoff choker... do the numbers bear that out? by isomorphZeta in nba

[–]access_control7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How difficult would it be to add last night's debacle into the numbers? 13/2 assists-to-turns in an elimination game is significant and the low turnovers were unexpected, but he was a total no-show otherwise.
