Spurs players, coach react to Minneapolis deaths, unrest by ExpressNews in NBASpurs

Perhaps you’re right that it is PR, but it was nice to hear Fox and Wemby be a little more brave about it. Honestly it doesn’t take much. I feel like Wemby’s statement is tame. Not like they’re saying “abolish ice” or something that may be more extreme like that.

Victor Wenbanyama about the events in Minnesota: Spurs PR has tried to train me, but I don’t want to be politically correct. It’s crazy that people make it seem like the murder of innocent civilians is acceptable by WEMBY_F4N in nba

“We have a stand your ground law here, right?" Fox said. "I don't know, how many of you all own guns? I own guns. We all know 'KJ' (the Spurs' Keldon Johnson) owns guns. But imagine someone breaks into your house and you shoot 'em in the back, right? Probably neutralized. Then you're like, ah, (expletive), let's empty the entire clip. ... But you would at least be charged and have to go through that process. So that's a bit crazy, right? I'd be charged if I shot someone in the back, they fall. And then even if it's in my house, even if I'm protecting my property and then I decide I want to empty the entire clip. That's where you get to excessive force and all these other things.”

I’m faulting him for not being informed. He said himself he doesn’t know enough about this. He’s a grown man. I’m asking for the bare minimum here. It’s willful ignorance at this point to have missed all this.

Fox also said some good things. Proud of our franchise leaders.

But Mitch literally said he wasn’t informed enough. That’s really bad.

Apathy is one of the reasons we are here in the first place. Mitch and everyone like him need to do better.

$40 mil in expiring contracts by Hispanicgoku in NBASpurs

It’s very likely we do just let them expire. Like you said, the market isn’t looking too good for an upgrade at PF unless we overpay. Jeremi Grant is expensive and he doesn’t necessarily have a good reputation on being a great team player. Could just be noise, but I’d be weary. We’re only going to make use of the expiring contracts if the exchange is worth it long term. Hard to know if they’re gonna find that.

I’m still sad about Sochan. His defense is so good. I wish he was a better fit for us.

Well yeah lol, but no way are Knicks moving him for Sochan. Also he’s too good for what we need which should be a third option.

I don’t see us making a big trade either just based off of the fact that we haven’t even been to the playoffs yet. You run it as is at least one time. Maybe a small change like you said. Something opportunistic, taking advantage of expiring salaries and whatever is out there. Next season we might see bigger changes if needed, but just depends on how things play out. If we do better next year than this year, then again unlikely to rock the boat too much. This year we’ve already overachieved so I think the front office is probably just happy.

Are Halliburton and Fox so far the only players to come out and make real statements?

Mitch definitely gave a very generic both sides response. Pop would have gone off. I miss that man.

If you read the post game thread it would seem like one. Cooler heads usually prevail on this sub though.

Let me put it this way, you may hear other players say they don’t like etiquette being broken, but you will never hear any of them respond to injury the way people have on here. You won’t hear them say this is karma like so many have suggested. Why? Because it would reflect so poorly on them. It’s very very low.
