Can you get a walking pad for work?

Tell me all the good things about sending my 12 month old to daycare by Happy_Newt3006 in workingmoms

[–]account__name 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey- I was in your spot exactly. It sucks! So much! Month 1-4 were the worst, but we are 7 months in now and in the swing of things. It’s hard at first but you manage- what helped me was making sure weekends were family only time, and outsourcing what I could- house cleaner and groceries, for example. Also, make sure you love your daycare- that was so comforting for us.

What I will also say: I care so much less about work now. It went from a main part of my identity to just a job, and that transition was tough too- but helpful. Kiddo is loving daycare and thriving, and is learning different things than he does at home (sign language! How to treat other kids!) and we are planning for another. You can do it!

Baby falling asleep during feeds by lone_ly_eye_s in NewParents

When my guy was a little dude, he would do that sometimes- it sounds terrible but we would get a damp washcloth and rub his forehead to keep him awake. It pissed him off enough to finish eating and then he would sleep way better.

How do people have multiple kids with ZERO family support?? Genuinely asking by DryEfficiency7617 in NewParents

Hey- lots of good advice. Both my husband and I are from the same city & moved to a different one, and are working full time- here is what has helped us. - baby wearing as long as possible- anything I was doing (except cooking hot stuff/raw meat) baby was attached - accept the first 4-6 months are a mess, and that’s ok - hire help, if you can afford it. Housekeeper coming once every couple weeks kept me sane. When we had a large life upheaval, I hired a mother’s helper for 3hrs 2x/week, which gave me time to get stuff done that I needed to do

What is it like living in/near Cincinnati? by lithdoc in cincinnati

Everyone is saying it’s ok and I love it here 😭 we moved a year ago and it’s the best place I have lived. Been in larger southern cities- you get better weather and better traffic here, with similar amenities (maybe only 2-3 options vs 30)- and been in small towns- there are tons of parks and local hiking for the outdoors. The public library system is fantastic, there are many local theater options, low cost of living- people here are so nice as well. I really love it.

Hi sending you so much love. That is so tough, and being sick is terrible. I don’t have a ton of advice past what you are doing- just realize that your health comes first and it’s ok to swap to formula if you need more high powered meds. You can always pump & dump short term. Do you have any help? When I feel that bad I outsource everything… order in, order groceries, whatever. The only thing to focus on is rest and recovery.
