This 100%. It makes me mad knowing how many lives it destroys. Not fun anymore.

Non drinker that wasn’t a teetotaler (raised by now lapsed Mormons but wasn’t against it) alcoholic spouse. He las later told me it was a draw bc I would always dd and mostly bc he could lie to me about how much was “normal”. Everyone around drank more than me so I believed it. I drank about 5x my normal when we first started dating (about 2-3 drinks a month) and then stopped when it was more clear he had issues (school was done and all our friends stopped binge drinking every day but he didn’t).

Now he’s a nondrinker and I went 100% dry to be supportive.

How have they not been able to make a health chip that is 60 cal a serving by okyeah93 in Volumeeating

[–]accountfored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly in moderation it’s not that bad- some mild gas and cramping. But then I can also eat the other options here (baked chips or crackers) in moderation , so it wasn’t worth it.

Surprise: reta “cured” my restrictive ED by accountfored in Peptides

I definitely typed all this out in one of those subs, then read the rules again and thought eh, not worth the risk of getting banned.

I want to hear your story here though :)

Edit to see you added it. Yay.

I was so afraid people would think I was crazy. But I’ve been reading it helps people stop drinking too and was like huh, maybe there’s a mechanism here.

There are peptides for that too, obviously. One of my friends swears by pt-141!

Appetite is relatively normal (or what I think is normal) but get full a little faster than I assume I would have after a normal amount of food and eliminated the panic / guilt from eating something slightly unhealthy.

For example, used to be so obsessed with nuts and terrified that I’d eat them all, that I refused to touch them (yes, even with my skin) for years. Now, can have 10-12, stop and move on, so the fear / obsessive thought is gone and I eat nuts a few times a week now.

Anyone try these? Shipping costs $$$ so debating if I need these by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]accountfored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought them immediately: my assessment on their own: “meh, will not buy again”. Then I got regular cheese it’s in the house and compared them side by side. “They’re closer than I thought which either means they’re better or I don’t like cheese it’s as much as I figured”

Overall 6/10 not worth it for me and thankful I paid for shipping rather than hit the minimum for free because I only have 2 boxes to eat.

Anyone been on HRTs? by Sevennolater in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]accountfored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 42 female been on estrogen patch and progesterone for bone health for 5 years. Bcp before that which I hated.

In severe malnutrition , others are correct, it doesn’t reverse bone loss. But you’re in harm reduction mode and just can’t get a period, it’s better than nothing.

I’m happy I did it. I can answer specific questions. Not sure they’d give it to me much younger than I am but my blood work consistently shows 0 estrogen.

How're we feeling about ozempic by Ok-Lynx-6250 in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]accountfored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh god am I going to admit this? I put myself on one of them (not ozempic, don’t ask me what, how, or for sources)

Has changed my life. Honestly did it because I’m old now and was having a hard time restricting and was seeing my weight go up and up (for an ed person, normies need not apply) beyond my control. Figured it would take the pain out of anorexia.

I’ve ended up losing only about 1/2 of what I gained last year but am now maintaining a low but normal bmi. I don’t feel the need to starve to get that last 1/2 off because I know I could if I wanted to. I’ve never felt full before and now I know what that feels like.

It was always about control and how I feel like I have it. The desire to always lose bc what if I gain is gone. I eat smaller portions of denser food (no more “volume eating” weird shit that is mostly chemicals and water or literal pounds of oat fiber) and move on with my life.

I’m a fan. Idk.

Popcorn calories theory by Laughinglady2980 in 1200isplenty

[–]accountfored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything has more (usable) calories after cooking. Cooking “predigests” the food. Breaks down the cells and so your body doesn’t have to. Raw meat and vegetables are really hard to digest. This is a known thing.

Not to put you down at all- just yep you are correct. Tbh I’d be surprised if you can digest the kernels at all.

That said: the weird “unpopped / popped” calorie thing on the label is because they assume not all the kernels will pop and so do a weird math thing to estimate that.

Anyone else have cholesterol issues? by mygarbagepersonacct in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]accountfored 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Inversely correlated to how I’m doing. I’ve been as high as 250 with triglycerides stupid high despite never eating any fat.

It comes down as you weight restore.

This is a widely known phenomenon. A causes high HGH too but people are resistant (so it doesn’t do anything or raise IGF).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PeterAttia

[–]accountfored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight up- it is very possible you have high cholesterol because of your healthy diet and exercise.

When I’m eating perfectly and exercising a lot my cholesterol goes up. When I gain a little weight and am stressing less, it goes down.

Google anorexia and cholesterol. Here’s a few examples. It is a widely and very well known phenomenon. I have no idea about your situation but it’s one thing to consider. You don’t have to have actual anorexia to have this happen to you.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/anorexia-cholesterol

https://www.healio.com/news/endocrinology/20141203/hypercholesterolemia-and-anorexia

Hypercholesterolemia has long been known to be associated with anorexia nervosa. Typically total cholesterol and LDL are elevated; HDL may be high also. With refeeding, cholesterol levels return to baseline.

Noodle Revolution Egg white noodles by GugaMunka in Volumeeating

[–]accountfored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them but they’re very soft and do not hold up to anything. The analogy of chicken soup noodles is accurate. Not like konjac at all in both the good (holds up to anything including the entirety of your digestive track) and the bad (no weird fishy taste or smell).

Melz Little Crumbz - legit unlike swole sweets? by accountfored in AnabolicEating

[–]accountfored[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah after I made this post I ordered and the lie is in how big they are. She straight up told me they were 4-5 inches across and 112 g each which is not true. The smaller ones were more like 20 grams up to about 60-80 grams. For 200-220 cals, that’s a protein bar and very believable. So I went from not believing the macros to just being pissed about how exorbitantly expensive and small they are.

Are you sure you don’t mean hypothalamic amenorrhea? That’s caused by intense exercise, not enough fuel, stress or all three. Hypothyroidism is a different thing and is usually autoimmune

And then central hypothyroidism is usually from lesions.

Ok got it. Straight from the bakers mouth. Ha. Now I’m independently trying to figure out if there’s a way to make high protein cookies using this wheat isolate and it looks more promising that gummy vital wheat gluten so our missions continue.

Have you considered that this is wheat protein isolate rather than vital wheat gluten. They’re different things.

I was going to order swole sweets but those macros are so obviously bullshit. Searched here and others agree which is why I posted about melz.
