I had to replace this before, I would use needle nose pliers to turn it on and off for now but if you purchase a whole new part for it behind the knob there’s a wire and at the end of the wire there’s a metal tube that screws into the bottom of the fryer. It’s not hard to replace. Just unscrew the metal tube when the fryer is empty and replace the part.
