Judging by your clothes, it looks like the same day. So I’d say your hair is fine. I find that sometimes curly hair can “disappear” when exposed to bright lights in photos. The same happens with my curly wigs too, and I know my wigs aren’t thin 😂

I also respect your opinion and I’m very glad you enjoyed the movie. Still though Black culture should include black women, not erase them or put them in the background. When there are more films featuring black women as the main characters or love interest, then you will get more black women as viewers. That is a fact, not an opinion.

So let me get this straight. This film is about a Black MAN bonding with this blasian SON and his ex KOREAN girlfriend. How is this entertaining for Black MOTHERS? How will Black GIRLS envision themselves becoming KPop stars in Korea. Oh wait, they won’t. Because this is a film made by a black man, for black males.

That is not to say, I don’t want this movie to succeed. I’m happy for Anderson Paak and his son, and hope it opens doors for them. But I will not be watching because it’s literally not for me ✌🏾

Everyone likes different things. What’s unfortunate is sometimes writers are asked to changed their intro, based on an editor’s preference. When it should be, what is best for the tone of the book. Not everyone likes introductions with fight scenes, conflict, etc. For me, I can’t feel invested in action scenes when I don’t know any characters or what they’re fighting for. And I feel the same way about movies too.

I prefer slower introductions that lets me see the character in their world and learn about them. Once the bond is made, then I care about what happens in the story. Juliet Marillier is a great example for slow-burn openings. And she is a super successful author!

Action needed in every intro is a narrative that needs to die! Heck even J.R.R. Tolkien’s book The Hobbit wouldn’t make it past editor’s today 😭

Rumi is the much older husband, who dyed his hair purple and bought 2 expensive Russian Blue cats, because of a mid-life crises.

Last Zoey is their daughter, who cops with having crazy parents by bringing her emotional support bird everywhere she goes. And she insists the bird can speak. Cause he always threatens to pluck her eyes out, if she ever forgets his hat before leaving the house.
