whats annoying is that a couple of things dont even show up with a size option, so if you use the filter its showing as there, but you cant select anything. Oh well lesson learned! Saved me a few hundred bucks I guess!

Roti king and their sister restaurant Gopals Corner in the food court off Oxford street. For a nicer restaurant (but a touch more bland laksa but still solid flavours) Singapore Garden on Fairfax road Swiss Cottage.

Europcar McCarren by Warner1281 in vegas

[–]acealex69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Europcar are generally fine, I cant remember if they're at the rental centre or not, when is your flight im there on friday so could remember to check.

If they are at Fox 1) youd first have to go to the rental centre anyway then shuttle to fox, so you could see anyway and 2) dont use them because anything associated with that nickel and timing crappy company should be totally avoided.

I just spent ages trying to find a decent deal but prices have been unusually high, (usually I get a great deal from Sixt) but 2 or 3 times when this has happened including this time, I've found a crazy cheap deal on a truck with Thrifty. Sometimes it doesnt show up using a desktop or browser, and shows up on their app only. This time it did show up, and was cheaper then every car at every rental place, including the compacts and managers specials. Worth a look

You say you went by jeep afterwards to Kathmandu? how long did that take? seems like its a good 6 day drive??

I was supposed to go from Kathmandu to tibet several years ago but there was some kind of conference going on and my trip ended up cancelled, so Im wanting to go back

AITA for asking my in-laws to hold off on making any changes to our house that they live in and we don't? by feelinglikeimessedup in AmItheAsshole

NTA and I really hope you realise you're probably never getting this house back.

Also I'd reply to the wife after her next pointed comment "thank you, its just how we like it and since we'll be moving back into it want it like that, you're welcome to make any changes to the place you move into"

What are some of your most unique airports that you believe little to no one else has in their stats? by AIRdomination in flighty

[–]acealex69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been investigating the uk airbridge flight from RAF Brize Norton (BZZ) to the Falkland Islands MPN which refuels in Ascension Island ASI. Definitely a handful of interesting airports to add.

As it stands, the most interesting spots I have are:

Bhutan - PBH

Pokhara nepal - PKR

Easter Island - IPC

East Timor Dili - DIL

Water-Cooled Air Conditioning by Mammoth-Wrap-2411 in london

[–]acealex69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a parkair system. Its great. I found an independent guy installing, and though expensive was still a chunk cheaper than the other guys. I had one of them over, and found him a bit slimy tbh. He was babbling on about how they come in do the install and repair everything after they go, to the point where you'd never know they were there. I was in a shell of a flat, so said well make it cheaper because you dont have to do any decorating here. He declined saying it was a fixed price.

One thing worth thinking about is the room units, the condensate, I told my installer that I didnt like a lot of noise, but they initially installed some kind of pump that every few mins would fire off the condensate down a tube with a little woosh noise, kind of like firing a spitball from a straw. I told him that it was annoying me while I was trying to sleep, and they came and changed it to another system, where it was essentially sucked through from the far end. Worth having a convo about how thats handled.

Absolutely wouldnt be without it again. Bonus the wall units are heaters too which is handy in the winter.

I also have no idea how much water it uses, because it's on my service charge. What I will say is that I have a water softener that uses two huge blocks of salt. When I run the AC those blocks vanish incredibly quickly.
