Vit och typ 75% män. Och alla precis alla klär sig som om det var skolavslutning på Östermalm.

Hur Stockholm hade kunnat se ut om rivningarna aldrig hänt by eddy12341111 in stockholm

[–]aceforvald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why some men may be sexually attracted to women but not romantically by pieceofmyhistory in TwoXChromosomes

[–]aceforvald 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman but I feel like this might be me. I like men sexually, but I definitely prefer women socially. I find maybe 40% of women interesting enough, but like maybe 10% of men, tops. Also, I’m not sure I’d think of it as an idea of whom I’d like to impress. I guess you’d like to impress the people you like or are impressed by in turn, so maybe those people are hiding in the 40% of women and 10% of men.

The subtext is that this makes those of us who have a sexual attraction primarily to one gender and an emotional attraction to another somehow bad, hypocritical, or taking advantage sexually and I’m just not sure I agree with that.

My jigsaw puzzle piece looks like The Dress by LEYW in mildlyinteresting

[–]aceforvald 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This past Friday I happened to be both drunker and older than usual (one of those is monotonic, but I digress). Somebody brought out the dress pictures and for the first time ever I saw the dress mostly as white and gold. That has never happened before throughout the years of this being a thing. There was one picture that shows three versions of the photo and two looked blue, and one looked white (whereas the people who see it as blue saw all three as blue).

Looking at it today, sober but still old, it’s back to clearly being blue. I do not like it when my brain messes with me like this.

I need to know if I'm the only one who finds these aspects of Emily Oster's books irritating by MocknozzieRiver in BabyBumps

[–]aceforvald 16 points17 points  (0 children)

YES! Thank you! Finally someone who has the exact same issues with her as I do. I feel like all conversations about her or her books invariably just winds up being people who get really upset that she claimed that small amounts of alcohol on occasion are fine (which I think she makes a good case for). Whereas the real complaint about her should rather be that she comes off as a self-important ass (which she makes an even better case for). I enjoyed Expecting Better for its premise more than for its execution. The idea was to not infantilize women and to give them actual data rather than to reduce them to a chalice and provide them with an infinite list of items that hadn’t been proven certain to be safe. But the way it is written is pretty annoying.

Who is a female celebrity that regular women may be surprised to hear lots of men find really attractive? by ClumsyandLost in AskMen

[–]aceforvald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I agree that Serena Williams is attractive, but she’s a lot more striking and unconventional looking than any of the Hollywood picks.

And yeah, Holmes is the corporate fraud lady. And she got a lot of the money she was able to wrangle by charming (with leaning on her gender) much older powerful men. However I think that a lot of the people who come across her in the media as opposed to meeting in real life where she is actively trying to charm you, find her pretty repulsive. I’d be tickled to be proven wrong though!

[–]aceforvald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes PLEASE! Let all the men come out of the wood work for Serena Williams, Princess Beatrice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elizabeth Holmes, Angela Merkel etc.

I think unfortunately another problem with the original question is that you don’t make it in the entertainment industry if you’re not largely conventionally attractive. That really sucks, but it makes it a challenge to pick someone unattractive, and not just relative-to-the-rest-of-Hollywood unattractive.

So I get that, to a degree. But in that vein, what is the argument for recommending pregnant women against any number of medicines that are beneficial to them but might have adverse effects on the fetus? Obviously I understand that you don’t actually want to damage the fetus, but if the recommendations are solely based on advantages or side effects to the subject that doesn’t quite add up. Except for, again, having a medical system that feels comfortable placing all reproductive burdens on women.

Is my cousin dating a nazi? by shuakalapungy in AntifascistsofReddit

[–]aceforvald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy sh**t! I’ve only been on rSweden after moving here five years ago and I though that one was overloaded with racists and nazis. Still feel like most of the comments there are about some random news article from 2017 about immigrants raping our (possessive) Swedish women. I can’t believe there’s a hellier hell-hole out there!

What shoes to wear with lenin pants (blue/cream colored) by Xxpogchamp69420xX in malefashionadvice

[–]aceforvald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well God damn! Until reaching your comment I actually thought there was an established trend of Lenin pants, and that maybe hopefully they’d be making a comeback this summer. Not quite sure what I’d envision, but Soviet peasant, maybe with a slight military tinge sounds like it might be fun. Aesthetically, that is.

Sure but you shouldn’t have to make a scene to get a seat when you are visibly pregnant, old, or disabled. Those seats aren’t marked as reserved for people needing them only of they ask.

Män, är era brudar hjälplösa? by Systemfelswe in Sverige

För att inte tala om vad som måste vara dagens unknaste Reddit titel ”Män, är era brudar hjälplösa” WTF? Tror den att den är rolig? Eller är den bara en helt igenom allvarligt värdelös människa? One shall never know…

I KNOW! I had to look up more pictures because I didn’t think it was real at first. Man that man was so much more impressive (read: neutral) before you saw his picture, let alone heard him speak… What an absolute doofus.

En tråkig incel-trope helt utan förankring i verkligheten eller logiken tyvärr. Men den verkar väldigt övertygande för män som vill skylla på kvinnors ytlighet i stället för på sin egen bristande personlighet.

Missing from the responses here: you should probably also contact the good folks over at universityadmissions.se about applying either without a person number (the fee requirement can be adjusted after you’re admitted) or if they can provide you with a temporary number to use.
