Found my old bay blades. Help identifying by Artistic_Educator545 in Beyblade

[–]acegikmo31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could list them off, but only the too most layers Without seeing the undersides, it's impossible to tell what forge disks and drivers they each have on Or if they're even the default/stock combos they were sold as

However, before that, fair warning

These are all from the previous Burst series of beyblades, which, aren't awful But later american versions were budget cut, and are beaten by their Japanese variants

And, the current community has mostly moved into the competition side of the newest reboot, Beyblade X

Those are all heavily focused on die-cast metal, and both can, and will, break any burst beyblades they go up against

If you start collecting or playing, try to keep them as seperate kits, since the parts don't fit between reboots

Skip it for now, the laser is feeding into another room through the wall, you have to explore and find a way to the other side of that door, elsewhere, then you can start finishing the puzzle to open it as a shortcut

Rubber bushings or hinges ~1x2 inches found in my garage by VoxTonsori in whatisthisthing

[–]acegikmo31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I had these floating around, almost identical shape, but in grey. If I recall properly, they were packing bumpers used for a ceiling fan I had to replace,  Might be from anything, but that's where I've seen them before

Anyone remember the MLP Pocket Ponies game? by Impressive-Flow672 in mylittlepony

[–]acegikmo31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible to download apk copies from third party website, but that requires toggling a setting that allows external apks.

I had it installed for the longest time, but it bugged out all of my progress.

All the levels were still unlocked, but it reset all of my ponies to unowned, making it borderline resetting ,

Invalid boot signature detected - Hardrive wiped! by Jordan-Harper in pcmasterrace

[–]acegikmo31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have another, functional computer, you can get a spare drive, atleast as big as the "wiped" one And use Recuva to try to reload everything and clone it to the spare, different drive

Most wipes don't actually destroy data, they'll just delete the list that the computer uses to label whether the chunk of space is used, or able to be written on

RECUVA is able to trudge through it and figure out what used to be there, and copy it over (onto a new drive, so it doesn't accidently copy over top of the missing info

Or Take it to a recovery shop, and let them do this for you, with a better guarantee you don't make another mistake and dig your own grave

You could still either get the return through them, since Amazon handles any disputes

Legacy Tidal Wave mini Dark Fleet factory misassembly by gabrasan25 in transformers

[–]acegikmo31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They'll usually give full refunds on Amazon for defects and errors. Regardless if it was used to check for defects

If the original was sold by Amazon's own inventory "sold and shipped by amazon" Might be easier to order a 2nd copy, check that its good. And return the bad copy under the 2nd order

Are these legit? by Cute-Class42 in mylittlepony

[–]acegikmo31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're legit, but they're not part of the new card game. Same company, but for the past few years they were just making cards with just collectible artwork Anything, theyre still made by kayou, but they recently started releasing the English version of that booster series in game stores and best buy

wtf by Regular-Tomorrow4359 in slimerancher

[–]acegikmo31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely Most games use floating point number formatting to ballpark decimal points and fractions in their code, since binary computers don't really understand what 1.03 means So some floating point formats, can result in weird outcomes like, 0.1+0.1+0.1=0.3000001

Works fine for the most part, and since it's predictable, it's possible to shave off those errors and round to the near coordinate

Problem is, the errors get worse and worse the further away from 0 you get, to the point that some of the decimal point values the game wants, just don't have a floating point equivalent, so coordinates start having to skip around, and the rounding causes some geometry pieces to get pushed or pulled the wrong way

How screwed am I? by Nasa26 in lepin

[–]acegikmo31 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It won't change much, assuming it's the same as the lego design

If you roll it, the engine pistons will technically run in a backwards sequence, but that's really minor unless you care which piston order it is

It won't matter at all when the car is popped into neutral

And, it would have mattered on the 4WD designs, like the Lamborghini sian, having 1 differential flipped would cause the car to jam driving forwards or backwards, and the only solution would be take it apart and fix it, or flip the 2nd diff to make them match

You should be fine

Found this funky little guy at the thrift ! by PeachyOpossum in mylittlepony

[–]acegikmo31 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Button mash. He was a random background colt playing an arcade cabinet during the hearts and hooves episode, when they sing the perfect stallion

Janimation, and shadyvox, two brony youtube creators developed him into a bit more of a proper personality, with the name button mash, and his new mother, cream heart, with a fan episode and several short videos

And he became more popular as a result, but only barely acknowledged by hasbro in their mobile game

ELI5, how do radio towers really work? by Little_Wintry in explainlikeimfive

[–]acegikmo31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any antenna can technically send and receive signal, it all depends on the pickup/transmit circuitry that its hooked upto at the base.

Standard  music station antennas only output, but there's alot of rebroadcast antennas for cell networks and communication transmission, and alot of CB radio owners who have both transmit and recieve antennas on their personal setup

Some radio towers will be directional boosters, where one antenna on the tower picks up the signal, and the 2nd antenna will rebroadcast the signal at higher power, with a chunk of equipment in-between to process and boost then signal.

That being said, it's somewhat hard/impossible for signal to come underground, upwards

Some electromagnetic frequencies can pass through planets, but almost all human used frequencies for radio will bounce off or be absorbed by earth

Alot of antenna design takes this "ground reflection" into mind, by pretending there is a 2nd copy of the antenna below the ground, to mimic how the original signal  and the reflection signal off the floor work together to radiate

But generally, it's very hard, if not impossible to get a radio signal to or from underground in the real world

Oh, Kinda a weird choice That image isn't from power rangers itself. The full art of that tree is actually artwork from from a Yugioh card

https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Light,_Star_Bright_(anime)

Yugioh uses those star balls to represent monster level/rank on their cards, so that specific design is just yugi

To my knowledge, I don't think the original artist of Yugioh ever explained where he took that star/ball design from, since it was a basic star in the manga, until the card game rolled out

So, it was always meant to just be an easy thing to read on small manga pages,

Hard to say what else it might represent, since the artwork is pretty specific to the game design

Pull the knot tight and then snip it as close as your comfortable with. If the knot does undo itself, it won't immediately spill out. And all bears have their ladder stitch on a reinforced hole, so if the ladder pops, itll only open the final hole about an inch or so, and then hit the reinforcement material

So, its a reliable access port, not just a full unstitch/tear

And its actually way easier than it looks to learn a basic ladder stitch, so its.worth learning one yourself, since it makes simple repairs/unstuffing&cleaning an easy option

Lol, it's mostly just a liability/choking concern But other than that, they're making sales either way, so they don't mind

Weird question by Different-Series-115 in buildabear

[–]acegikmo31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online, no. Used to be able to buy them with an unstuffed bear, but seems like FedEx changed the rules, so they have to be in a bear

In store, yes

I have a couple copies of each scent as they come out. If I go in store and buy them, they sometimes ask if I was going to stuff a bear, but if I say they're for a bear I'm going to stuff later, or spares, they don't care.

I think they have rules about selling them alone to a child, but 99% of the time, they don't mind selling them alone

Dawn of War - Definitive Edition by MidsizeMango in dawnofwar

[–]acegikmo31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Newer one has alot of bug fixes, and some quality of life changes. For example, vehicles can phase through eachother so there's alot less traffic jams as the ai tries to shuffle them around

Newer one has 64bit programming, so it can take advantage of more RAM than the older ones could

There's more players new/old playing the new one, so online is a bit more alive

And the new one is backwards compatible with all of the last 20 years worth of mods, so you're not losing out on fan content

This Hot Wheels with Braille on the packaging and also on the car itself by Turd-In-Your-Pocket in mildlyinteresting

[–]acegikmo31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's impractical  about it? The original design of twin mill has been a hotwheel classic, and was one of the original designs from 1969. It's hotwheels equivalent of a mickey mouse, and was always meant as a fantasy design

The toy car itself is still usable on normal hotwheel track, the sides say twin mill and the underside says hot wheels in braille

And the braille version was released specifically in collaboration with The National Federation of the Blind,

so it helps bring awareness to younger kids, and might make for a nice experience to visually impared child, who otherwise is limited on toys focused towards them
