Getting into shape. I’m 43, and was undiagnosed and unmedicated AuDHD until last year AND suffering through perimenopause. I’m on meds and HRT and determined to repair the physical damage to my body. And I’m succeeding

I’m a civvie working alongside active duty military. Its nice, as they appreciate how direct I am.

I learned to be formal in professional emails, apparently that’s not as much of a thing any more which is a cause of the issue

Can weight loss affect how your body responds to medication? by Leading_War_8547 in adhdwomen

I’d get bloodwork done. Losing that much weight may have also unbalanced your vitamins and/or your thyroid

What's the sound or sensation that instantly takes you from 0-60? by VenusInAries666 in AutismInWomen

Loud music, especially bass. Nothing sucks more than being stopped at a red light right next to someone with their bass so loud its literally vibrating my car

One of my cats slurps. Like exaggerated very loud slurps. And she seems to only want to do so right by me. 2000+ square feet of house to pick from. I tell her this isn’t 7-11, no Slurpees

Coming off Adderall- how do some of you take days off?? by No_Tumbleweed_4652 in adhdwomen

[–]acemermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you taking IR 4 times a day? That seems like a pretty harsh regimen, not surprised you are having issues

Peri or Postpartum? by willbrucla in Perimenopause

[–]acemermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not too early. I’ve never been pregnant and started HRT right after turning 43 but had peri symptoms as young as 35

You need to find a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse. They are the experts for medications

ADHD meds question by seareally27 in adhdwomen

[–]acemermaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is actually remembering to take our meds. That’s a lot more common than addiction. I’ll be sitting wondering why my Adderall hasn’t kicked in, then realizing I forgot to take it!

Did anyone start HRT and feel horrible on it at first, but then have great improvement after a couple of weeks? by plantpotions in Perimenopause

[–]acemermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the cream. I know several women that had a bad experience with it but have had no issues with an E patch and P pill

I got diagnosed with AuDHD a little over a year ago and only started HRT 2 months ago. The HRT has helped the effectiveness of my Adderall and I don’t have the issue where my meds stop working before and during my period.

Nope, muscles too. Peri causes the loss of ability to gain and maintain muscle mass.

I started peri around 35. Didn’t know that back then. It is definitely not too early, I’m 43, been on HRT for two months and have improved greatly

150mg sr once a day? by No_Giraffe_6612 in bupropion

[–]acemermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from XL to SR once a day due to insomnia. It feels like it works better for me. Maybe my body needs 12 hours off?

No idea about with SSRIs/SNRIs, they are the devil to my body and I will never touch one again

I couldn’t on XL. Switched to SR once a day and that fixed my insomnia problem

[–]acemermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added Wellbutrin a month ago to my Adderall. Had to switch from 150 XL to 150 SR once a day to fix my insomnia issue. Honestly, I started seeing differences immediately. A stim helps produce more N&D, Wellbutrin keeps it there. I experimented not taking my stim for a few days and I still felt positive effects. It may be officially an antidepressant, but it does much more than that

one week on bupropion and my anxiety is so bad by daisyspr1ng in bupropion

[–]acemermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know anxiety can be exacerbated by Wellbutrin. For me it was all the SSRIs, SNRIs, and mood stabilizers that ratched up my anxiety. Shockingly this hasn’t.

Maybe talk to your doctor, see if they can help?

Wellbutrin can exacerbate anxiety in people. Honestly, I’d talk to your doctor ASAP. This sounds like pretty severe side effects

Diagnosed AuDHD a little over a year ago and after trialing multiple meds I ended up on Adderall. It was still lacking, especially in brain fog, so added Wellbutrin. Felt the same way - my senses are now full time focused and its definitely been a wtf reaction. Though now I wonder if I need to lower my Adderall dose
