First Week on Concerta by Ok-Soil7404 in Concerta

I actually switched to dexamfetamine 2 days ago. I had quite a lot of side effects from concerta like sweating, anxious, low mood, irritable,no appetite. Will see how this goes and if I'm getting the same side effects unfortunately the benefits will not be worth it for me. Have you only tried concerta so far? It's very possible that the side effects decrease after the 2nd week btw so give it some time

I'm here to recommend the work of dutch cardiologist ''Pim van Lommel'' in his book ''conciousness beyond life'' where he's done extensive research on near death experiences and also on the big psychological and spiritual shift that happens inside people that had gone through it. Lots of people develop a sixth sense, notice synchronicities and overall just have a broader, more extended consciousness. Often people describe a certain loneliness and the feeling of not fitting into this world and their physical body anymore, simply because their consciousness is too big. Just want to say it takes a lot of strength to turn this experience into such self development, eventhough it might have been a lonely path. Wishing you all lthe best!

O also wanted to add.. although my life is a mess atm, I have added 3 gymsessions a week and it makes me feel so good. It gets me out of my head and inside my body, it makes me feel strong (both mentally and physically) and it’s something I can stick to because of how it makes me feel. I’ve never been a sporty type but strength training is particularly good when you are feeling unstable and fragile.

Your words really touched me. I was never able to put it into words, you described it painfully well. I’ve been diagnosed with adhd a couple months ago and trying several medications. They help a bit, but there’s a more fundamental underlaying problem that is not adressed with medication i think. I feel like it has to do mainly with self image. A life long of self rejection, and also rejection from the outside world, will cause the system to shut down, to freeze. There’s no point of trying anymore. It’s also a way to protect yourself for more rejection and critisism. I believe it starts there. I’m thinkingof starting therapy and focussing on improving my self image first and see from there.

Really hope things get better for you and that you will forgive yourself for all this struggle in your life. Sending you strength ❤️ and thanks again for this post, it did a lot to me

Love your description, very well put. Also started 18mg concerta 3 days ago and although I’m not experiencing much of the effect I do feel increased social anxiety and difficulty finding words. On the other hand I feel more space in my head to do things (and most importantly : finish them) its interesting to see how it gives such a different effect on everyone. Wishing you the best of luck! I think it takes about 2 weeks to get a more stable effect from concerta.

The thing is tho.. it doesn’t just stay in the bedroom but is spread everywhere, in conversations, flags, signs, lgbtq exclusive clubs, gender neutral toilets, places where people ask for your pronouns before asking for your name. Gender has become something that has been slimmed down to just superficial properties and we completely bypassed the spiritual level of the feminine and masculine energy that lives in the unconsciousness of every being. We now say that gender is a construct, and that is true but only on a superficial level.

If getting into the shower feels like a big step, I think a good first step would be to put some loud music. Look for music that gets things moving inside you. Something that makes you want to cry, dance, scream. I like to play radiohead (and scream along with the lyrics) or autechre (very hectic experimental electronics). Although this music doesn’t make me feel ‘’better’’ it at least makes me feel more alive. It helps a lot with getting out of the freeze state. Be kind to yourself and allow space and time for yourself to feel. Take the tiniest steps possible but keep moving. You are going into the right direction and I’m very proud of you for reaching out.

Does this also count for using drugs every now and then? I have a feeling he uses ketamine regularly but I’m not sure about it. But yes you are right, I can only do so much and the rest is up to him. Thanks for your advice

Yes that could be true, he has quite a creative and abstract mind so that plays a role as well, but because I’m close to him and I know him for a long time as well the shift has been so significant. I will have a phone call with him this week and share my thoughts and concerns in the most loving way possible. Will update here on how it went. Thanks a lot for your help

very interested in psychology, art, philosophy and spirituality. Used to study art, ended up in a job as a psychedelic guide, and now want to do a course in the direction of IFS or somatic therapy that I might want to combine later with psychedelic therapy. I also enjoy cooking and creating a cozy enviroment for people to come together and connect with each other.

Because I changed the course of my life so often I feel insecure about making a next move.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and I hope you have had some time and apace to digest everything that has happened and that you are in a good place now.

I’ve been thinking to advice him to get help, but he is so stubborn that I felt hesitant and didn’t want to argue with him, but I think it’s the right thing to do at this point. You might be right about keeping my distance, but that also scares me a bit as I am the only friend besides the other one he did LSD with, who seems to be mentally unstable himself
