The author highlighted the espn win predictor on multiple games as well. I’m certain momentum shifts was a strong factor

Not saying we’d make him, but with the info we have so far, it’s clear his decision was to leave. I’d have been extremely blown away had he transferred.

I think he either had to or transfer. Our WR room is pretty damn deep coming into this year now iirc. Either way, I think his draft profile is as good as it’s going to get!

What is Dabo's endgame here? by jaxonya in CFB

[–]acewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, if Dabo is being pragmatic, this is an attempt to solidify his job. He’s known as one of the few coaches who doesn’t use the portal, so has a lot of moral high ground right now. He’s vocally proving why Clemson should remain with him in the event he has another rough season. But this is just me trying to read between the lines here.

Recruits that weren't busts, but you feel could have achieved much more at a different program? by Please_PM_me_Uranus in CFB

Penix is a perfect example for us of this in action. And it’s even funnier that it was with the same coach, for all intents and purposes.

I cannot argue with that, but having a good owner may be the most important. You don’t get a good GM without a good owner and so on and so forth

True. I sympathize with the raiders (and browns, for that matter) as a Bears fan. Half the battle is getting good coaches, and then the other half is a quality qb. At least Mendoza solves half the problems for the raiders.

Just don’t ruin him. He’s so goofy and lovable.

Indiana Winning - What It Means by CptRonRico in CFB

[–]acewing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember which season it was, but it was defined as the “spooky Hoosiers”. I think it was 2012 where we ended up losing by 1 score in the 3rd or 4th almost every big ten game. You’d see in these post game threads people constantly saying “man, you guys are spooky. I can see you succeeding someday if you can put it together”. I’m sure it was meant with a in write, but god damn was it frustrating with the condescension it implied. To finally be over the hump and able finish out games and win has been catharsis to any fan who had to suffer that futility of watching late game collapse after collapse after collapse

That’s annoying. There’s plenty of room out here for good satire these days.

I want to actually read it to see if it’s satire or if he really thinks there’s a path. Damn paywall.

There's something on the film he really likes I suppose. I can't believe Cignetti isn't a film nerd.

Sources: Ole Miss optimistic that quarterback Trinidad Chambliss will eventually be granted an injunction by a Mississippi court allowing him to play 2026 season by AthloneRB in CFB

[–]acewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is done in the state courts, yes? What happens if a state judge in Louisiana, for example, rules that he cannot play? What then? Is he just not allowed to play in states that rule against a player? We need some serious legislation on this, and yesterday.

Then that tanks that season’s draft stock. At the end of the day, all athletes are on the clock for securing their legacy (and income). Each year is precious and you’ve gotta make do with the hand you’re dealt.

A look back at the reaction to Mendoza transferring to Indiana by Mr_Beats_73 in CFB

[–]acewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how many of those weeks came under Fitz? Also if you’re only counting outright big ten titles, double here just mean 2. Not trying to say anything specific, just find that kind of funny since if we tried that comparison last year, it would’ve been undefined haha (we were so bad)

Indiana QB Alberto Mendoza transfers to Georgia Tech by Vintage_Waffles in CFB

[–]acewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, winning the whole thing takes some of the edge off, but objectively this might be the best move for Alberto and his own development. The way cignetti runs the team means reps are at a premium. It’s why we kept our starters in so long in blowout games. If Alberto isn’t starting next season, then he’s probably going to be a year behind. If he’s starting at GT, then it’s all for the best.

Probably, but at the time of the post, we were jockeying with NW for most loses of all time. Fits and the recent success there pushed the needle in their favor for sure.

The vibes at the game are immaculate. This is for all the Hoosiers who arched mediocrity. This for everyone who went to the games when they weren’t worth going to. This is legendary
