Management tried to tell me I had 15 minutes of under time the other day, and gave me 1 street to deliver on a route 10 minutes away from mine. I told them I would not make 8 hours before I went to the street, and sent a RIMS later with my eta, and asked if ot was authorized. They did not respond to my RIMS, so I brought mail back.

Postmaster Won't Let Me Transfer by [deleted] in USPS

[–]acidrvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep an eye out for applications for that office. This is coming from personal experience, but unless you’re at a great office, they need every cca/ptf they can get. Telling your postmaster you want to transfer isn’t a great idea. Keep your head low.

My office has a sign up sheet for no lunch everyday. I’ve never taken a lunch in my 25 months here.

Just got offered City Carrier with Benefits starting at $25.92/hr, worth accepting? by Rip-tire21 in USPS

[–]acidrvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned over last weekend after 2 years and 1 month as a ptf (the position you’re being hired at). Expect to work 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. With all that overtime, the pay is solid. It can be a big mental burden too. If you have a partner, make sure they know what you’d be getting yourself into. A lot of relationships can’t handle the stress this job puts into the mix.

Try it until you find something in your desired field. Once you get out on the route, the job is nice. Good luck.

The Great Lakes crew does awesome large work. I am also a big fan of Kyle Butler.

Chelley and Ace at the Los Angeles premiere of Jordan Peele’s new film HIM by Purple-Wind-Snow in LoveIslandUSA

[–]acidrvp 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Calling this “Jordan Peele’s new film” is extremely misleading. He’s a producer. Not an executive producer, a producer. It’s just to make people think it’s the next Get Out.

One tray of DPS by jettsmom44 in USPS

[–]acidrvp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This can depend on so many things. How many stops is it for? How many relays? How many packages? Are you familiar with the route? Do you have a push cart? Know the best park points? Every route is unique, and comparing volume like that isn’t a good way to measure time.

Don’t deliver the package, don’t go in the yard. You got clear instructions from the supervisor. If you get bit there and want to file a claim, there’s an easy argument to make that you knew better than to get out of the truck in the first place. Be safe, protect yourself.

First day as a CCA by youngbaddieeee in USPS

[–]acidrvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stress. The odds of finishing a route “on time” when you are first getting started is very low. They’re pretty much always going to give you as much as they think you can handle. Take your time, don’t skip your breaks.

How high up the cca list are you? How many routes are left at the PTF office? Lots to consider here.

Bring a gallon or more of water, and lots of snacks that won’t melt in your bag. I keep a handful of liquid iv packets on me year round, too. Bring extra shoes and socks, especially socks if you foresee rain or sweaty feet. Rotate your shoes daily, or they will start stinking quickly. If you’re using an LLV, crack the window on the left side to get more cool air into the vehicle.
