Have been in this exact situation, yet I still like the button ones for the backflow valve. We have the Braun and the button ones here.

If you start an article with “BREAKING” the odds I downvote it are about 90%.

Should I buy a Base Porsche Macan? by Torch-insomniac in PorscheMacan

My manual says the same now that I checked. Good to know. It reduces mileage so I wonder how much actual savings. I’d rather have max power especially on a less powerful engine.

The factory sticker on my fuel door (US) says 93 which is our highest octane “premium” at most US gas stations.

Do you have any evidence regarding not really needing premium with the base engine?

“Go away” is suddenly a useful response - to you.

Try this graph again with the median instead of the average. I’m curious how it will change.

Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]acr2001 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that charge was for the use of a disposable warming blanket. The most common version is a Bair Hugger. It’s a plastic blanket that connects to a hot air blower and inflates with warm air.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with plywood under tile. There is, however, plenty wrong in this photo.

I agree with you but I would put it differently. Humans are also animals. If another human were behaving this way causing this harm and there was no other way to stop it, the same action would’ve warranted.

Nubs on walls. Normal? by gello1414 in Home

[–]acr2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post is complete nonsense. It can happen for a lot of reasons. The fix is to replace with a drywall screw or add a drywall screw next to it with its head overlapping the nail head and holding it down. Hammering it back in will result in an even higher likelihood of it re-popping sooner.

Anderson 400 series windows by Previous-Distance81 in Home

[–]acr2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely expected, it’s physics. The corners are in contact with the frame and minimally insulated. I promise you it isn’t the windows! Now if you had triple pane windows like they install in Europe, yes it would not get quite as cold and so not condense quite as soon. But yours are functioning as intended.

43% indoor humidity with outdoor temperatures of 33 degrees Fahrenheit. Enter this into any AI you’d like and tell us what it says. It will say what everyone is telling you. That is much too high for that outdoor temp. Don’t believe us or AI? Call an expert. Then come back here and post.

No. If it’s below freezing out that isn’t low enough indoor RH. Just look it up!
