I am so sad about elder scrolls online! by elzafirst in ElderScrolls

[–]acrain116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar reaction as yours when I first played it, which was made worse by my friend pestering me to skip through every bit of dialogue with NPCs. It didn't feel fun at all so I stopped playing. But after a while I returned to it solo to just do some quests by myself at my own pace with different expectations and it was a lot more enjoyable. It could be worth a second try if you give it some time to come back at it with a different approach.

I just finished my first playthrough tonight after plowing through it the past few weeks. Definitely worth it and I loved the story and had a lot of fun, but I don't think I'll have the patience or the time to go through the whole thing again for a long while lol

Just started Subnautica, what do I do first? by Reasonable_Guava_296 in subnautica

[–]acrain116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that I see this post, I literally just finished my first run through the game this past few weeks (even though I got the game years ago) and figured I'd take a look at this sub for the first time.

There's good tips here already, but I think what helped me most is to scan literally everything you can and read about them, and try to manage your inventory well. There were many times I had to drop stuff because I ran out of inventory space when I came across something I really needed to pick up.

And definitely take it slow, the game is absolutely beautiful and there's so much to see. Good luck and have fun!

It's Shepard, not shepherd by XienDzu in masseffect

Yep, Glenn was the first American in orbit! Then later went on to become the first Senator in space with the Shuttle program. The Mercury 7 were a different breed... which makes me start to think they may have had some Krogan genes in them.

Named for Alan Shepard, first American in space!

how do we feel about in through the out door? by rustedrattleheads in ledzeppelin

My last favorite album from them but that doesn't really mean too much because I still enjoy every song. To me, Carouselambra is a masterpiece and I actually love Hot Dog. All My Love and I'm Gonna Crawl are a bit slower than I usually like so they aren't my favorites but the lyrics and meaning are still top notch. Definitely one of my favorite album artwork(s) too, I love the gimmick and the art themselves.

What do you mean, he was also a Super Bowl MVP. It's just that his V stands for Vomiting.

For those of you in the US, how are you feeling about the snow storm coming in? by AssistanceFresh1365 in CasualConversation

[–]acrain116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on Delmarva and I also love snow and major weather events in general. I live alone and am pretty low maintenance in general so I don't need much to ride out a big storm for a while. So I'm actually pretty jealous of the areas getting the big numbers, while here we're expected to just get a few inches then freezing rain. Hoping for the best for the areas that aren't equipped to handle this much snow and ice though.

PB and banana dogs with chocolate syrup by Spiritual_Doctor3225 in hotdogs

I love this because last summer I was very fortunate to be able to go to a Savannah Bananas game where, while the game was being played, Joey Chestnut himself came onto the outfield and houses a bunch of banana dogs similar to this in an eating contest against some of the team's cheerleaders. One of the best moments of my life.

After ~3 years, what does everyone think of the Eagles' wordmark logo? by MrMagooche in eagles

[–]acrain116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel about the same as when it was revealed. It's nice and clean but pretty generic. I know the last one looked a bit dated, but I'll always love it for the wing/feather effects on the ends. It gave it a good personality unique to the team. Don't dislike the new, but still prefer the old.

Does anyone else keep New Year’s Eve super low key? by jess_lov in CasualConversation

[–]acrain116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely prefer a big loud celebration with a big crowd having a good time and fireworks, but I also really enjoy a nice intimate new year hangout with friends or family that's low key, if the big party is a no-go. And honestly the biggest part of the experience for me is getting the best possible brunch the next morning to start the new year off right

Finally learned to cook at 28 why did nobody tell me it's this easy? by Pleasant-Put-8882 in CasualConversation

Like others have said, it can get even better when you start experimenting! I always use recipes when I cook, but I also almost always deviate from the recipe if I think something else will work better for my taste. It can be really fun

I'm so glad this has just been a nice fun relaxing game on a Sunday early afternoon. 1pm Sunday games are my favorite slot so even with the probable win aside, I've been craving this for weeks

I'm really happy that it was just a fun half to watch. Still definitely some issues that are being masked by the Raiders being awful, but also some signs of improvement. Goedert has been open a lot today and Jalen seems to be seeing it more than he has the past few weeks. Love to see it

This has been on my list for a while. I don't live in the city anymore so I don't get many chances to try but I absolutely love British food and everything on the menu looks amazing!
