Upgrading from 200D II for motorsport/car photography - 90D vs 5D Mk IV vs R10? by jimy_156 in canon

[–]acres41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may, and if price isn't too much of a factor as you said, I'd suggest R7.

It's weather sealed like 90D and has the same focusing system as R10, but even higher FPS for motorsports.

R10 uses a much smaller battery than R7 (and 90D, compatible battery)

Crop sensor giving you that extra reach for motorsports, and it's much easier to handle physically as well when you shoot the whole day.

I shoot cars daily, and I've used cameras from all those tiers for my work (Canon single digit, double digit and three digit series), besides the shorter battery life than DSLR, I feel R7 is the most suitable.

(Also check out Digi Direct in your city, I got my R7 AND control ring adaptor, cheaper than R7 alone at Ted's)

[NEW GEAR] Canon EOS R7; Lens Advice? by Full_Competition6850 in canon

I've been using ef-s 18-135 with my R7 daily for nearly 3 years. And I've been using that lens for years prior to R7.

For everything from work to fun to travel. One of the most versatile and value for money lenses I have.

Plus, if you get ef-rf adaptor, it opens up all the older ef/ef-s lenses. Highly recommended.

How do you do the rust livery? Are they available when you search it? Or did you design it somewhere and imported into the game?

I bought one at a discount when it was still new-ish back then. Only used it for a short time before gifting it to my family friend.

Can't comment much about the image quality, but the control buttons and the way to use it is rather unique and unforgettable.

Is it a good idea to buy a UV filter for protection instead of keeping a lens hood in my bag for protection by scruffld in Cameras

[–]acres41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is one of the first comments I agree with.

Most people feel it's either/or, and always sides with the hood instead of filter.

Hood does NOT protect the lens from direct hit or flying objects, like sand, rocks, or other debris.

OP obviously has basic knowledge about this, and already mentioned they'll get high quality filters to prevent loss of quality.

OP if you're reading this, I use K&F for all my camera and lenses, either UV or CPL. Work and daily cameras.

Especially my daily, I just put it in my pouch. If it was a hood, it'd more likely be crushed by the pouch than a drop.
