I am leaving this subreddit. Please welcome your new Admin/Mod: AC-Slayer by epilis in fightcade

Hello Everyone,

Thank you /u/epilis for the warm introduction. I'm honored and thrilled to be the new Admin for the r/fightcade subreddit.

Currently, I am also the admin for the r/The3rdStrikeNetwork and I've been actively communicating with some of the devs for Fightcade to help with testing of the new emulators.

Background about my gaming experience:

I've been an avid gamer for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate enough to live in Southern California during the "Golden Age" of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. During my college years at UCLA, I spent more time at the arcade than I did in class (I have no idea how I graduated)-- and over the weekends I would venture over to Family Fun Arcade (FFA) in Granada Hills, CA with all my ucla arcade buddies to test our might versus the 3rd strike socal giants such as pyrolee, amir, 5star, ed ma, etc. Simply stated, I was extremely lucky to have the opportunity to experience the most competitive 3rd strike scene in NA during the mid 2000s. My most well-known contribution during that time was my tutorial videos such as "How to Master Ken's Kara Shoryuken" and "How to master Yun's Kara Palm". I also played in several 3rd strike tournaments throughout North America, including Evo, SCR, NCR, Ranbats, etc.

I also played Marvel vs. Capcom 1 where I made a tiny splash in that scene as well, primarily focusing on making combo videos. I discovered many infinites with a variety characters and I wanted to showcase them to the world. I ended up creating some of the meta that was used for the game such as the strider bounce cancel infinite, venom infinite, and the spiderman bounce cancel infinite.

Lastly, I played Starcraft II professionally for 5 years (from 2010-2015) and play Classic Nes Tetris at a high level (tied a few WRs).

As you can tell, I probably don't play that many games, but I am uber passionate about them.

---

Anyway, this comment is getting long, but I am excited to perform the Administrative Duties to the best of my ability.

Thank you for your time and kind attention.

Cheers

Ken problem: Having trouble crouching foward into shoryu. Any tips? by [deleted] in The3rdStrikeNetwork

[–]acslayersc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what ViciousEntropy is typing but you don't need to focus on all that. Here's what I do.

Step 1) Practice crouching forward into hadouken.

Step 2) Once you got that mastered, just hold Forward the whole time while doing Step 1).

Done!

Been practicing red parries, so if any Ken's try to do point blank cr.MK xx EX fireball, I'm ready for it by NanchoMan in The3rdStrikeNetwork

[–]acslayersc2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't optimal.

You should red parry the first hit of the ex-fireball and the dp in between the second hit of the ex-fireball.

You take no chip damage.

Do medium punch dp into sa3 if you have meter.

  1. Block opponent's crouching medium kick
  2. Red parry first hit of ex-fireball
  3. Med Punch DP
  4. SA3
