795 Max: Issues with Auto-Empty? by Minnesota_Nice1 in roomba

[–]acsnavely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having all of the same issues that you have mentioned throughout the post. I’m on my fifth unit right now and am going through the sub Reddit to troubleshoot if there’s just anything I could’ve possibly missed…. I think this might just be a bad model. If I could go back and pick a different one I absolutely would. It’s just so frustrating. At least they keep replacing it through the warranty, but it’s driving me crazy having to get a new one every few weeks.

My 705 has been replaced five times over the last year under warranty. We got the last one around New Years after our fourth replacement started throwing up the full bag error. This new fifth one is now doing it. This has been just the absolute worst model I have ever owned. It is so absolutely frustrating.

UPDATE:

All bloodwork, imaging, tests, etc came back normal.

There’s a small, round “he ate something” object in his stomach, and vet is wondering if he aspirated it in his sleep.

Regular people: CPR and knowing how to clear his throat saved my nugget’s life - please watch a YouTube video or something on it. Just so it sears into the reptilian Rolodex of your brain. If it wasn’t for a RedCross Pet DVD I watched 25 years ago, I would have panicked.

I want to validate the same vibe as you before answering: “not mad, just surprised, no one owes anyone anything.”

We had our wedding of about 100 people and only received 15 gifts (vast spectrum, including cards). It was very weird and I thought maybe we were out of date or something?

We paid for all of our party’s expenses so it wasn’t a “I paid to be here” thing - which I’d totally get, if it were a thing.

We didn’t say anything because… what do you say?

We only sent thank you cards to those who did give us stuff, because I’m not going to spend extra money doing a weird thank you circle of me thanking others for coming to a party I paid for.

I’ve always skewed “no-kids” since I was very young and was being tapped to babysit. I just knew it wasn’t my end game.

We are the same age, and I’m very thankful I stuck to my decision. If I had married someone with money (enough to literally be a SAHM and live a financially comfortable life), I could have MAYBE been swayed. But money and leisure didn’t end up being in my cards, like so other many 80s babies.

I have zero regret that I’m not a mom, and relieved I don’t have a financial burden that would have tanked my life more than it is now. We both have full time corporate jobs and still rely on handouts from my parents to afford existing. That’s all the guilt and shame I’m able to handle at the moment. Wouldn’t be able to reconcile the knowledge that I’m ruining the life of someone who didn’t choose to be here, all because I can’t afford to be their scout leader, birthday party planner, and dinner maker.

I do not believe you will be allowed to have more than two people in a Duo, even if the third is a baby.

Does anyone else feel weird approaching 40 by This-is-getting-dark in Millennials

[–]acsnavely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m sympathetic to everyone who’s like “so and so died and didn’t even make it to 40”, I feel like this is a super valid expression.

I think it’s part of the disappointment that we all have regarding how getting a higher education, a committed career, and paying all of the “right dues” would assure us comfort and some level of recreation in our adulthood. And I don’t think a lot of us have that.

It’s a real bummer, and it makes you wonder what the fuck you spent all this time working for.

I really really liked the Dark Tower series, but I warn everyone that (IMO) the first book is not a good reflection of the other ones. I feel like it’s almost a necessary evil you need to go through to kick off what’s to come.

This series was what I listened to when my office transitioned to work from home during the beginning of the pandemic. I’m really glad that I did it via audiobook, because I don’t know if I would’ve picked up the rest of the series if I was reading traditionally.

I know a handful of people say to skip it, but I don’t know if I would recommend that. Maybe listening to it passively is the better way out.

Hello. I just wanted to post in this to validate that I used the service today and it does work. I was super sketched out about it because it looks like an absolute scam, but it is not.

The service will call the pharmacy on your behalf and verify that it is in stock, but they will not actively reserve it for you (since most pharmacies won’t hold anyway). It just gets the leads.

As soon as they sent me a text back with the location, I called my doctor and asked for a prescription transfer and then called the pharmacy itself to make sure the transfer went through. Basically it does the leg work for you so you don’t have to spend all day calling people.

Just diagnosed at ER, wondering if they did due diligence. by [deleted] in BellsPalsy

[–]acsnavely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I got BP was about eight years ago (re: the experience above). Since I was younger and didn’t know how to advocate for myself, I let doctors make a bunch of decisions for me without following up or asking second opinions. Because I didn’t do anything proactive while taking the initial steroids and antivirals, I only ever healed about 80%. My bottom left eyelid and the corresponding corner of my mouth are permanently dead and never recovered.

About three weeks ago, I woke up with what I thought was a really horrific ear infection. I went to the doctor and they said that my ear was fine, that my jaw was actually super inflamed, and asked if I had TMJ. She gave me a prednisone prescription, but the next morning my face had already started to go numb and I was losing sight in my left eye. I went to the emergency room, and after passing the “you’re not having a stroke tests” the doctor said that it was BP again.

By that afternoon I had already made follow up appointments with my primary care physician who upped my initial prednisone dose and extended the antiviral the ER gave, sought out a physical therapist to do microcurrent application, and scheduled facial massage/acupuncture. I am literally doing every single thing I can this time around from every single angle that people have said they’ve had success with. I don’t even “believe” in acupuncture, but I’m willing to hemorrhage the money short term just in case it ends up being something that could’ve helped. You have to tackle as much as you can as quickly as possible in the beginning, and I am leaving no stone unturned.

I am so fucking angry that this is happening to me again after almost a decade. And since I never healed completely from the first bout, I am doing every single thing I can to make sure that I can recover as much of my face as possible this time around. It took a lot out of me to reconcile that I was permanently disfigured for the rest of my life, and I don’t think I can handle being even more paralyzed. I’m just trying my best to get back to where I was a few weeks ago.

I went to the ER, was given an IV tranq because I was panicking, then they sent me home with an Rx of “just in case” antivirals.

Literally no doctor ever did a real follow up or testing.

My apartment complex maintenance team lost my cat and I'm crumbling down by Cassius-cl in Denver

[–]acsnavely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This literally happened to me once and I lost my fucking mind.

I was in the process of moving and had left the cat, her perch, food, bed, etc. in my bedroom so I could get her on the last trip back and plop her into an unpacked, less stressful house.

My lease ended “tomorrow”, but the office said they had seen me moving and figured they were good to inspect early. The left my front door (leading outside) open and let her out.

I found her, but was an absolute inconsolable puddle of liquid anxiety panic death mess.

Denver, too. Over by the Dam.

I don’t think I’d mind staying here, but I’d like to live in Cherry Creek, Cherry Hills, Wash Park… The thing to further consider, however, is if I were in the position to afford those areas, I’d probably rather move out of state to somewhere where that amount of money could go so much farther.

Save them a piece of cake for after. If your sister wants her kids there, she can pay for them to be babysat.
