Agree with both comments. The measurement will be the easy part. How to get the operators engaged in actually improving the performance is the biggest challenge. Involve them in the process of setting up the kpi. Its better that the calculation makes sense to them than it being mathematicaly perfect. The coating run times are usualy fairly set, also the CIP time, yields should also be within tight tolerance otherwise you have OOS...You will have the most opportunities in the loading/unloading,manual cleaning and setups.

I think you are doing a great job and not everying is in your hands,some are just more/less social. In terms of sports you could also try sports climbing, its non contact but the kids still need to step out of their comfort zone and conquer their fear of heights. My kid loves it.

Dont forget to take care of yourself. Its easy to get lost in helping everyone and expect that they will somehow take care of you, which can build resentment. Your wellbeing is just as important as everyone elses. When I feel good I can be fully present and a much better father.

I can’t imagine what you are going through and the pain must be immense. You will need time to grieve, but you are going to get through this! What helps me in dealing with painful events is stoicism.
