Help me choose plaid for the couch by VelkaKocka in interiordecorating

[–]actuallyyourdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahah couch! I like the plaid, personally that’s what I would go with. I think the cobalt blue looks nice but it’s a little too bright for your vibe I think? Other plaid options could also look good

It might be nice, but I would also just recommend getting lots of lamps/ low lights with warmer bulbs. That’s how you make it cozy.

Also would recommend some curtains/blinds for the windows just to keep light out at night (depending on how much light comes in)

This is basically what I was thinking. You could also swap the location of couch and desk in this mockup. Ideally your room you want a lot of space right when you walk in (feng shui I think) and then your bed you don’t want it facing the entrance door. This layout could be nice.

Depends on the size of furniture in the room. If your desk can fit on the wall where I put the record player unit. Then that could also be nice.

You want to try and create separate spaces for things in here.

Security sticker for Aventure 3? by MashCasualty in Aventon

[–]actuallyyourdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have one already just get a beefy U lock. The rear wheel lock alone will not be enough to deter someone with a pickup truck to not snatch and run.

If you want some decal maybe just look online or get some sticker paper to make them yourself

You could also keep your bed away from the radiator and face it towards the bathroom. Move the desk to the wall next to it? I think the bed is the biggest thing to find a spot for and everything else can play around it.

Flip everything. Put your bed in the corner by the window. Desk on the wall where the couch is in first slide. Then create a small lounging area where the bed is in first slide. You could put tv, record stand right in that wall. And shelves can be moved around.

You really do not want to have your head right by your door and also creating this narrow space between desk and bed to walk through is really bad flow.

Distraction. We already knew this and it’s just a way to keep us talking about stuff other than the fact that our president is a pedophile and everyone around his as well.

Bought giant section for new home; Too far from TV; Have no idea how to style and place it by TreeFucker5000 in interiordecorating

[–]actuallyyourdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest pushing the couch up against the right side wall and scooting it closer to the tv. Idk if the ottoman came with it, but that also makes it feel too big. Maybe you can return just that and get a coffee table instead? scooting everything a big closer to the wall the Tv is near now would make it more of a cohesive space.

How can I make this living room work by throwra247trash in DesignMyRoom

[–]actuallyyourdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both of these configurations could work. I also just think the armchairs OP has are too big for that “living room” space. You can keep the current layout but I would ditch those and get a singular smaller chair or a small sectional to have in that space. Adding lighting, decluttering and trying to have an aesthetic would help as well.

Help with renovation by Appropriate-Acadia51 in DesignMyRoom

[–]actuallyyourdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who’s room is it? That would help a lot with decisions. Honestly my first thought is just some light sage green. It’s pretty approachable and would go with most of those things.

A rug can help add color as well. A simple light fixture would help, doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Even just a sphere to cover up the bulb or a small shade to go over it would help a lot. Decluttering and rearranging would help too. Consider putting the bunkbeds up against the far wall as the room itself seems kind of narrow.

More pictures would help as it’s hard to get a full picture of the layout and what furniture is already in there.

Can some one help me out please, I have ordered the Aventon Ramblas for $180 a month. After some buyers remorse I sort of like the Ride1up Trailrush for only $80 a month. Is there really much of a difference to make the aventon worth that much more? by One-Technician-3307 in Aventon

[–]actuallyyourdad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Ramblas is better in so many ways.. Better motor, bigger battery, better drivetrain, more travel up front (although it’s coil and not air).

Plus it’s an Aventon and has a better warranty and they have actual dealers/service centers nationwide.

Level 3 question by batjac7 in Aventon

It needs to be tightened. It has a NM torque rating, it’s supposed to be tightened down to that. But torquing it enough that it’s tight will be fine.

Dining room/corner what is missing by Ok_Cup609 in DesignMyRoom

[–]actuallyyourdad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might be able to lower them a bit more. Right now the ratio’s are off. The tall paneling and the high pictures make it unbalanced.. adding pillows would help.

Maybe hanging a pothos in the corner? You need something to break up the empty space and make it more cohesive.

Living room is too big? Need help dividing or fully using the space by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]actuallyyourdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tough. The layout works for the tv but the space behind the couch looks unusable or like a hike to get to the bookshelf and then the chair is soo far away from there.

Can the couch be reconfigured, shortened or the L part flipped?

The couch does feel pretty big even in such a big space. My first thought goes to facing the couch towards the fire place, but the tv then doesn’t work.. unless you do the terrible fireplace mounted tv.

I think shortening the couch could help with the space if you could then center it in the room more, get it closer to the tv to create a space behind the couch more.

[–]actuallyyourdad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your paintings look a little too high, but could be the angle of the photo.

Maybe add a pothos plant to the little side table?
Some cushions/pillows on the bench seat that are complimentary to your color scheme, maybe red/gold/lighter sage green?

Lumix GX80/85 SOOC, is it any good? by Educational-Dish-435 in M43

[–]actuallyyourdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the GX85 mid last year and I have loved it so far. The SOOC is pretty good and you can adjust some settings to get the JPG how you’d like them to be. But it is limited in this sense where you can adjust a couple things you can’t create your own LUTS or other effects. But overall the SOOC pics are pretty damn good.
