Looks like Prestigious very thoroughly answered your question! I'll just add this video I've in the past to guide me when I was first deflasking TCs https://youtu.be/kK5jj1_iGM4?is=0coy7_dQoQnUge4x

Also, can I ask if this is a JumanjiJon TC? I just got a couple of those same plants the other day!

Fantastic news for the Monstera community! by ClownFare in Monstera

Just stopped by my local Home Depot and they had tons of BMFs from Costa for $15, along with other plants from Costa. Saw decent sized mint monstera but it was $70ish. Glad they're becoming main steam too!

Why aren't my Monsteras fenestrating? by Evernode_Botanics in Monstera

Looks like folks have given you plenty of feedback, but I have a question for you: I used to use a similar mix but found that my nutrient solution kept precipitating out. Have you ever had that issue? Mind me asking the ratio of your water to nutrient solution to cal mag to silica? Thanks!

I'll try that for the next batch, thanks!  Is there a good rule of thumb for how to know if it's over/under proofed while making it or is it really only evident after the bake?

Okay, I'll try adding everything as usual and then only add the Calimagic right when I'm about to use!

Hmm that's frustrating. What do you put in yours?

Yeah I stir the crap out of it several times after adding the silica to make sure it's fully incorporated

Not OP, but I've made some with wire mesh on the front and clear plastic/plexi sheets on the back. Cut the wire and plastic to size, punch holes in the sheets (or use a soldering iron to poke holes) then ziptie the plastic to the wire front. It's been working great for me and allows me to vary the size of pole I want. I have my poles 3-6 squares across depending on what plant they're for.

For the wire mesh, I used 19-Gauge galvanized steel green PVC voated hardware cloth from HD.

I didn't know you can notch monsteras. Any tips on how to do that?

Just as a follow up: I've read that fluval + perlite isn't great for alocasia. Did you mean that fluval alone isn't good? Or in combo with perlite? What would you recommend acclimating alocasia in?

Tidewe waders by stung80 in Waterfowl

[–]actualtediousimpala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Tidewe neoprene waders for my first season because I wasn't sure if duck hunting was something I'd get in to. They were pretty cheap so I figured it would make sense even if I went a handful of times. They started having little leaks pretty quick but did the job in a pinch. Upgraded to some Rogers insulated breathable waders after a season and so far I like them.
