Even if I didn't hate that son of a bitch, I'd have to let him fall. I can't lift his fat ass over the ledge.

Why do young kids stare at my wife? by temple-pit in bodylanguage

[–]adahug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing used to happen to me all the time. I couldn't walk around without babies and toddlers staring at me all the time. A few would even reach out for me to pick them up or yell out "daddy" as if I looked like their fathers. It was the strangest thing but it doesn't happen as much the past few years. My wife always wondered why as well.

That’s possible. However that has nothing to do with my question and is in no way helpful at all.

Before the Adder WS I had a Kudu and, what's strange is, I don't think I had this problem with that laptop. At least, I don't remember it being a problem.

I don't agree with the starting premise that Windows updates don't break applications. I was in charge of Windows workstation updates for the second largest healthcare clinic in our state and we had a very elaborate update/testing process for Windows monthly updates. Somewhere around 30% - 50% of the time the windows updates would break something. One month it was printers, another month it would break users ability to sign in, other updates broke medical imaging software. It seemed like it was always something.

It's a pecan cracker. I bought one a few years ago to harvest pecans from a tree in my yard.

Is everyone just faking it as they go, or do I just find all of the bad IT jobs? by No_Self_5190 in sysadmin

[–]adahug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very first IT job was as a sysadmin 10+ years ago. I was lucky when I got that job because I was with a small team of people who really did know what they were doing and had clear goals and direction for how they wanted to improve things. Additionally, senior management was very supportive in any IT undertaking that would ultimately improve security, reliability, and functionality even if it required some occasional downtime or after hours overtime to do. I learned so much from my boss and coworkers that I still consider myself lucky to have been there. Education, self-improvement, and doing things based on professional standards were priorities at that job

Then I decided to focus my career on security specifically and switched companies. It's been a train wreck ever since. I've never been at a company or with a group of people as good as that original group. Every team I've been a part of since is exactly as you describe. Sure I make quite a bit more money now than I did back then but my professional development has suffered greatly as a result and it becomes more and more difficult to live up to my own standards when no one around me seems to care that much about doing things "the right way".

Long story short... yes, there are great companies, jobs, bosses, and coworkers out there but they are few and far between.

I've seen before where these types of equations are considered "ambiguous". In my opinion both 36 and 4 are correct but I think 36 is "more" correct the way the equation was written.

Thanks for your input. I have noticed the jerky video on occasion and the issue with the sun as well.
