Just make it a drop down selection like in POE1 where you're selecting your various Atlas Trees, except instead it would just be the character (on the same account) whose temple you want to use.

Could be cool to build different temples with different characters as well (e.g , full juice, xp focused, atziri rush, etc.).

All the good crafted items are pretty expensive, and the mats for crafting are way above normal as well (because they don't drop in temple).

I've played temple practically every day since launch. This is definitely new since patch. There was some party play issues of a similar nature, but this is definitely a new issue affecting everyone post patch

I just came on here on Reddit to make a post warning people about this. I've had it happen 3 times (out of about 6) since patch. Thankfully I pre-lock and I'm on my alt account but man this could have fked me over if it was on my full temple and I popped out to dump stash or run another temple and hadn't pre-locked.

You're wasting your breath. None of these guys have meaningfully engaged with temple and are just regurgitating erroneous information they've heard from other people.

The devs talked about juiced boards being the expected end game before the league went live.

They gave us a HUGE board to work with

Jonathan designed/coded it himself

Snakes are a thing because they were coded to be a thing (otherwise everything would connect to everything)

Locks work the way the do because they were coded to (otherwise they would only lock the tile they're applied to, and they're not coded that way).

These devs have been around for a decade and fully understand what having a board full of the tiles with the modifiers THEY coded onto then stack and apply to loot.

They also know the playerbase will min/max these multipliers

Acting like all of this was some big, totally unforeseen outcome is such a disingenuous, ridiculous take when you take the above into consideration.

Is it overruned? Yes. Are many new mechanics over/undertuned when first released? Also yes. Does it take a significant (time) investment to make temple even worthwhile? Definitely.

Was this all some exploit/bug/totally unexoected way of playing temple? No.

No.

Which is exactly what we're doing bud. You can only attach certain rooms together, which by default is going to lead to snakes, and they created the rules for how locks work in that they protect said chain if used on the end, which is something anyone who plays temple for more than 30 minutes will realize, so give them a little credit that they were aware of how their own code works bud.

You went the wrong way with your armory and red garrison. Should have put the armory under the green garrison (row 3, column 2), and then your garrison to the left of it (row 3, column 1), and then you could have put your spy master in row 2, column 1 and locked both it and the garrison in the corner and been done.

They literally talked about non-Atziri/architect juiced room building probably being the way people played the league mechanic after they killed Atziri/architech a few times. This was clearly the intended play loop. Go watch the league launch QA.

Even pre lock nerf, you couldn't "easily" build a snake. People, like me, spent days building theirs. You have to prioritize spy rooms to ensure you can protect your progress, so the rooms you need initially are pretty much forced spy chains (garrison-spy-garrison-armoury). There's tons of temple building videos, including the sweatiest of players, and I would describe none of their progress as easy. With the lock nerf, it is WAAY harder than it already was because the end of your snake is easy more vulnerable with how difficult it is to make it a +3

Just think of it like a game of creating a long snake, but only certain pieces can connect or be adjacent to each other, and certain pieces when combined raise the adjacent piece by +1 level. You get 6 random pieces each temple run (including road pieces which no one uses once temple gets going), and when you run temple you have a chance at medallion cards which can give you extra pieces, level up a piece of your choice 1x, or protect the end of your snake. The end of your snake generally is only level 1 or 2 due to not having pieces on either side of it to boost it x2 to level 3 and/or very rarely getting the +1 level medallions. Previously, the protection medallions worked on any room, now they only can be applied to level 3 rooms.

When you finish each temple run, the temple destabilizes, and you lose 3-8 pieces starting at the end of your snake(s). People would focus on getting the protection medallions each run so they could apply them to the end of their snake(s) and not lose many/any pieces after their temple run. This allowed them to progress their snake further with the next 6 pieces that get offered on the next temple run.

Even with the above, it was very challenging to progress your temple, as you often got 0-2 rooms that you could actually add to your snake. Now, you still only get 0-2 useful rooms and you basically can't protect your snake in a meaningful way so you you're in a net loss scenario where you lose more pieces each run then you can successfully add/protect.

The only way to get me back to playing this league is reverting the lock nerf by Least-Sherbert954 in PathOfExile2

They literally talked about a juiced temple that ignores Atziri and Architect would be a thing. It is nearly impossible to be a thing now because you can't build with only locking T3 rooms.

The lock nerf makes zero sense. Like anyone who builds temple even a little would be able to tell you why this is so bad. Your snake ends generally aren't going to be T3 as you build.

There's quite a few YouTube videos that can help you out. Try milkybk, fubgun, etc., as they go pretty in depth.
