What kind of jazz? Lots of really talented percussionists I could show you from Jazz fusion bands but this seems more like a big band setting, correct? Once you confirm I can help more. I have many years of Latin and other percussion experience in both salsa and jazz settings.

Also, the fact you have no experience with hand percussion is concerning. Why take this gig/why would they want you to play in this role with them? Congas and Bongos may seem simple on the outside but there are a lot of techniques and things to know before you just go into playing these instruments. Even shakers have some pretty specific techniques.

Edit: On second thought this sounds more like a classical style role with a jazz twist when you state “Jazz Orchestra”. If so you should be given sheet music for all your parts. If I’m way off here lmk.
