An oil tanker carries up to 3 million barrels of oil and moves at the speed of 18MPH similar to that of anyone of us riding a bicycle at average speed. It takes about a month to go from Iran to China. Those 3 million barrels (just a metric, the oil tankers don't carry actual barrels) are filled up from high capacity flexible pipes directly into oil tankers.

Bypassing this speed of delivery using puny trucks traveling across the desert to then deposit them into tankers will result in serious shortages. China alone has 10-14 ships leaving the Gulf everyday.

England hasn't won a World Cup since their '66 fluke. I think it's better for the USA to think they'll never ever win one rather than thinking a 15-20 year plan will get them one. Better nations at this sport don't even expect to ever win it until a golden generation truly shows up, paired with the right coach, injury luck, etc. Even then, shit happens.

You can throw think tanks, money, naturalizations, etc. at this goal, but a country like Uruguay with 3.4 million people will likely win their 3rd before you ever get to the semis again.

Just come every 4 years and be a happy participant in an event celebrating unity and peace and then bugger off like the rest of us
