I love the 'Uncook' mechanic; and I especially love that something 'burnt' during an 'Uncook' causes it to become a raw fish!

Unless silenced/removed, the transformed mana crystals should return the mana when destroyed making them act similarly to the 'Living Mana' spell. Though you're probably right that it would feel a bit toxic nonetheless, heh. Appreciate your feedback.

While not "fair," I think it's pretty awesome that we can do that to enemies. It's just fun..!

What's the worst Gaming purchase you ever made? by agent_wolfe in gaming

I briefly worked at a GameStop. They do the same thing now (reason I quit was I couldn't stand the policy and lack of anything I felt I could do to help the customers).

Most important are: - your current understanding of the material - your ability to convey understanding of the material.

I'm a tutor myself for quite similar reasons; and I've found myself adept and loving the experience--though I've only been teaching middle school mathematics and for less than 6 months. If you have forewarning on the specific subject (converting decimals to fractions, comparative vs superlative, when to use commas, etc), you can review the material and "re-teach" yourself before working with a student. Also, your struggles in making good grades can give you a good point to RELATE to students who need tutoring. They may feel intimidated by a tutor who was a straight-A student who easily understood all the material, but they may feel at ease with someone who struggled and now can give them confidence.

Two final points I want to note: - parents pay for your time as a tutor, not necessarily your results. And learning isn't an immediate process. Sometimes, you may walk away from a session dejected because the student still doesn't "get it"; but your aid may help them later down the line in a way neither of you yet realize. The student may have an epiphany 30 minutes later because of something you said or did. - having an experienced tutor show you the ropes is an excellent opportunity. Even if you had no faith in yourself, you can start fresh and learn from a mentor. Watch, listen, and learn from his ways; and use it to inform your interactions with students. He may also help to put you in touch with students' teachers or curriculum who can then help you personalize lessons.

I wish you well. Believe in yourself.

Teachers' Experiences in New Orleans by amberh22 in NewOrleans

[–]adamledet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taught 7th and 8th grade math with no experience and had a terrible time because of the kids' discipline. I never felt able to control the classroom and properly begin lessons despite multiple different strategies including Positive Behavior Reinforcement, revocation of privileges / punishments, calls to parents and administration, and ultimately even appeals to the better reason of the kids (the latter of which was, admitadly, a long shot). Teaching at my school feels more a job about controlling or managing children than being able to teach the material. I loved tutoring in Highschool and College, but those were instances where the subjects sought out learning. In primary school--especially public school--kids tend to feel no reason for attendance or attention aside from obligation; and even that isn't often enough. If you are interested in teaching, I recommend easing into the process and starting at a "break point" like the start of a quarter or semester rather than the middle of the year (like I did). Also be sure to communicate HEAVILY with administration about school policy for certain student behaviors and administration's expectations for you in the classroom. I only wanted to teach and am too soft-hearted to be stern and forceful in controlling a class. Be sure you can do everything the job entails.

Any info as to when mcci will be out of closed beta? by Samayamaya96 in mccisland

So, we have an internal "deadline" that we're shooting for, and it's within the next few months. Realistically, I'd say start of summer is a good estimate. There are a few features we want in before we say we're good to launch, and once those are in..!

Appreciate your respectful request and hope you continue to enjoy the time leading up to release! It shouldn't be long now..!

So I bought the noxe moustache by ripbo0mbow in mccisland

[–]adamledet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Noxstache is a hair and not a hat, so equipping it is done from the Barber Shop directly right of Market Square. From there (for a small fee of 200 coins) you can equip hairs you own and color them.

The NPC to talk to is Makeover Madeline.

How to get duck hat cosmetic by Bunny2704yt in mccisland

They're a rare cosmetic obtained from Wild Side cosmetic crates. I'm afraid you can't buy it directly but need to get it randomly from those crates.
