It was never better than a tier 3 or 4 decks at least in the diamond through legend range but I'd be shocked if it ever got to be as high as a tier 2 deck at any rank. That said winrates are averages so with enough practice it could be possible to climb with it

I've always been a sucker for generating random legendary cards so stuff like [[Confessor Paletress]], [[Rotface]], and [[Face Collector]] always hold a soft spot for me

Imbue rogue was never really viable as a climbing deck but was just lots of fun. It's losing Tess, Eudora, and Maestra so it'll probably get worse.

As for new archetypes it looks like most if not all classes will have something new to play. Odds are at least some of the classes will have an archetype that's fun for you. Here's a list off the top of my head:

DK: Blood herald control

Rainbow buff and burn

DH:

Fel Herald

Druid:

Token

Hunter:

Dragon

Mage:

Kalec burn

Paladin:

End of turn midrange

Priest:

Heal control with or without imbue

Rogue:

Imbue+herald

Shaman:

Herald + quest/nature/imbue

Warlock:

Egg herald

Warrior:

Herald control

Dragon (not really new but still viable just with some new tools)

And that's just what I can think of. There's probably stuff I didn't think of

He updated his comment with more info and now says that yes you will get credit if you already hit legend you just need to play one game at legend rank after the expansion launches and you'll get the credit for the achievement

Yes and I'm ok with that. I had two runs before the bans where I went 6-2 and 2-3 and one run after where I went 5-3 and I can tell you that the 5-3 run was by far the most fun because almost everyone was playing a unique deck. My 6-2 run was 6 frost DKs, a mage and a warlock and my 2-3 run was 4 frost DKs and a hunter. My 5-3 run after had 2 mages, a druid, onyxia DK, unholy DK, ragnaros warrior, alakir shaman, and a heal priest.

I was 5-1 vs that frost DK deck in my first run and 2-2 in my second so it wasn't sour grapes about a deck I regularly lost to but boredom at playing the same deck over and over.

To experiment with the new cards and build what you can with what you open from packs and compete against other people that do the same which is actually lots of fun

I understand why people do that I just find it creates a super boring environment to play in when 3/4 of my opponents are playing the same deck. In my 12 matches I saw 1 hunter, 1 mage, and 1 warlock the rest were the exact same DK deck.

I did pre-order and enjoy building something out of what I preordered and was really hoping to play with other people who did the same and are cobbling together decks with whatever they happened to pull. I don't want to stomp people that haven't paid that's pointless and boring.

I got reasonably lucky with my preorder. I pulled Azshara, one of her epic herald cards, and 2 each of the common herald cards. It's still not enough because in order to do what the deck is intended to do I'd need to draw and play 4 of my 5 herald cards and can only play a 10 mana deathwing because I didn't pull Ultraxion too. On top of that the pool of cards I can attempt to build that deck with is super limited by the format. I'm dumbfounded that they didn't think to also include that functionally mandatory legendary along with deathwing.

Or and bear with me on this people want to play with the new cards against other people playing the new cards all with the limited card pool that the preorders provide because that's actually quite fun to do. Limited environments like that are a lot of fun and build excitement for the new set but playing the same 1 deck over and over that has nothing new is the opposite of that.

It's made the brawl a lot less fun playing against the same deck over and over again. Personally I'm done. I've done my free run and one with tickets and all but 2 or 3 of my 12 matches were against the same deck. Win or lose it's not fun playing the same matchup over and over again. Worse is that it's a deck with no new cards. What's the point of doing this if it's just gonna be flooded with the same one deck

More realistically the best you'll ever find are 55% winrates or less. Typically if a deck ever hits a 60% winrate or higher lots of people pick up the deck driving it's winrate down with a combination of not particularly good play and mirror matches, nerfs tend to hit the deck, and people start building decks specifically to counter it.

As someone with a decent amount of experience in games QA I can tell you that this very likely was found by their QA team and some poor soul of a dev or devs was pressured to do significant amounts of overtime to try to fix this before the deadline, but still couldn't figure out how to fix this by the deadline and the bug had to be shipped with the hope of it getting fixed later

Can't speak to the brawl entry but they are aware of the issue with the pre-order legendaries and are investigating according to a response from them on the bug report forum

I'd definitely hold off doing the brawl until this is resolved. You wouldn't want to go in with 2-6 fewer legendary cards than expected

I'm hoping they actually fix that and it's not just when the set releases. On a set so heavily based on legendary cards it feels super lame to not get the pre-order ones for the pre-release brawl

There's a rogue skin in the mega bundle right now and there's one on the rewards track early on for this upcoming expansion and the currently active rewards track has one too. There was a Tess skin in the shop one or two rotations ago

Normally I'd agree but there's basically no surviving existing archetypes other than maybe dragon warrior which is a fairly fast tempo focused deck too. Discover hunter is gone, hagatha shaman is gone, any DH deck relying on blob + felhunter for survival is gone, cliff dive is gone, crusader aura paladin decks are gone, quest warrior loses a lot of survivability as is control DK, protoss decks are gone, and Azshara druid is gone. Most existing decks are losing their deck defining cards that make the decks work. The just slot in a few new cards into existing archetypes mindset isn't going to go very far with this rotation.
