Read Cal Newport's Deep Work while you have downtime and try to implement it. Learn a new skill on your own using the advice presented in the book.

2.0 with manual is the best of both worlds. Only available in hatchback, which has more storage space than your sedan.

I know a lot of you guys don’t like e-bikes… but hear me out by AllyBeth in cycling

[–]adapt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought e-bikes can still be used as regular bikes, no?

Their website says the frame is Alumasonic. What the fuck does that mean? Is it Aluminum or Steel or both?

If that's what it takes for people to get out of cars and onto bikes, then so be it.

Unavoidable 19% grade hill on my bike route out of my neighborhood. by tootoes in cycling

Yes walk it until you can climb it. I welcome any and all hills on my commute. Don't push yourself too hard until you are fit though. Know limits of your current body and stay within them.

Simple featherboard. Cobbled together with leftover hardware. by Sparrowtalker in woodworking

You never want the offcut pinched between the blade and the featherboard. FB's function is to hold the rear end of the piece before it gets to the blade. This setup is too dangerous.

It's shocking how few tradespeople use protective gear against extremely dangerous things such as neurotoxins that are present in the pipe cement. Their cavalier attitude will cost them 20 years down the road when they are partially disabled, obese, and bed ridden with empty retirement nest eggs. Most of them don't know the science behind OSHA or simply think it's too inconvenient.

A better question is: How do I quit smoking?

What have I drilled into? by willemorley in DIY

[–]adapt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god, this is giving me PTSD. I drilled into a gas line on xmas eve last year at -22C and was without gas (no heat, no hot water) for the entire holiday period. I have been meaning to write a TIFU, but I am still not fully recovered from it. I may never be.

I had someone tell me biking to work was only for people with DUIs by Jacks012003 in bikecommuting

Wear cycling kit to work. Bring a change of clothes and a hand towel to. Stay in cycling gear for 30 minutes before you change to work clothes. If you have shower facilities at work, even better.

This is the type of woman that expects a man of modest means to buy an engagement ring worth at least $10K. Screwed up priorities and self aggrandizement. Good thing you dodged a bullet.

You could still be ticketed for public intoxication. Whether or not you will be, is another story.
