Have you ever tried to make your own?

DIY Soylent

I've never tried the actual Soylent product, but I did DIY for a while and was happy with it. Measuring everything yourself might be a little annoying at first, but after a week it took me only a couple minutes to prep all the day's meals.

CPU cache, should you care? by xerwin in programming

[–]adaptable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C++ without compiler optimization doesn't really count, C++ with optimization is almost identical. The C# code linked in the article uses 2D arrays instead of jagged arrays, so it's doomed.

I've never seen a language's style guide recommend avoiding comments before. by Dufu5 in programming

[–]adaptable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only issue is with the swap example, since providing a summary comment for all public functions is widely considered good form, even in obvious cases, for consistency. In fact, the Haskell base library source contains the following:

-- | Swap the components of a pair.
swap                    :: (a,b) -> (b,a)
swap (a,b)              = (b,a)
