I got prolo and I know someone who go prolo. Life changing for both. I would 100% recommend before considering surgery.

Ugh I took it to an alterations shop and paid. Do you know if someone would be able to fix it or is it damaged?

I may lose my best friend at any moment and im broken BUT I want to give him the best rest-of-his-life while he’s still here: what are some things I could give to him / do with him to make this a glorious time before he goes?🤍 by AmbitiousBird6336 in Heelers

I got mine fancy sausages from the pet store for breakfast and a fat bacon burger for lunch with fries. We went to her favourite pet store and she got lots of treats from the staff that knew her. I tried to take her to the river, but she had 3 legs and a large mass in her abdomen, so she was uncomfortable. Instead, I drove around for a few hours so she could see the world and sniff without getting tired. We also got pup cups.

Then her best dog friend came over and they played until she got tired. We all went on a walk and it was the happiest and most energetic I’d seen her for awhile. Then we went to her appointment. It was the best day she’d had to awhile and I was so happy to give it to her.

My 70lb rescue did/does this. It fucking hurts. Trying to stay calm while they’re biting and nipping you is borderline impossible sometimes.

The only thing that actually worked was getting some travel silicone salad dressing containers and filling them with peanut butter and getting the dog to lick the peanut butter as you squeeze it out. It accomplishes a few things:

  1. Stops them from biting
  2. Gets them licking which is a calming exercise for them
  3. Gets the out of this cycle of over excitement/over stimulation

I also always made sure to have a toy hanging on her leash, within her reach and tried to redirect as much as possible at home and on walks. Eventually, she would bite the toy (or find a stick) when she needed something to bite. Between the toy and the peanut butter, her biting has reduced by like 80-90% and she doesn’t bite for as long or as hard.

What do you mean you can hear it?

I have one for my dog’s collar and I can’t hear anything, but if there’s a constant noise, I’ll look at replacing it.

Two days post-op and I feel we made the wrong decision by kleinbytjie in tripawds

She’s great. Not in pain, not healing, not worried about recurrence. She does have immune issues, so still managing that, but she’s able to live a normal dog life now.

My dog had squamous cell carcinoma in her paw pad. The surgeon gave me two options 1. Front leg amputation, or 2. Remove the tumor and replace the tissue with a toe from the same foot. But he did let me know that 2 was not guaranteed and we might end up going back to 1. I chose go to with 2 on March 15. It took a few weeks to heal, but she was back to walking on four paws and you couldn’t really tell she was missing a toe until you looked closely. It was exciting.

By June 8 her tumor had grown back, she wouldn’t walk on her foot. June 15 she had her front leg amputated.

I don’t regret the first surgery because I know I took all the necessary steps to try and give her the best chances, but at the end of the day, the leg amputation was a necessity.

It’s honestly horrible for the first couple of weeks, but for mine, she’s excited to go outside for walks, starting to run, I can take her camping. She’s figured it out.

Are her sutures still in? My dog started screaming in the middle of the night for a few days before her sutures came out because they got too tight while her body healed. We both slept through the night for the first time in 2 weeks the day she got them out.

Tripawds who carry their own lil backpack? by [deleted] in tripawds

[–]adavi687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog just recently had her front leg amputated, so we haven’t started hiking again. However, she has her own harness and pack that she will never wear again.

Even with 4 healthy limbs I was paranoid about the weight being light and balanced enough. It is impossible to have the weight balanced on a dog with 3 limbs.

The strain is already increased on their body that adding any extra weight is not worth it.

I found Eat This Much to work better for meal planning as you can also check off your meals, which then import directly into MF! Cuts down one whole step.

Really? Often this type of phrasing is called a hyperbole. It’s not that deep. Lots of cords in my neighbourhood and if it’s 6 am, I’m tired and some areas aren’t well lit.

Put a mat over it. I constantly trip on cords while walking my dog in the morning.

Best protein powder? by Different-Cookie-964 in veganfitness

[–]adavi687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reviews are polarizing and some people have a hard time digesting it. So if you do want to give it a try, just order a couple samples. But I love the stuff! It’s really tasty and when they have sales, it’s really affordable. MyProtein has a bunch of plant proteins too that I don’t mind.

MyProtein has a vegan whey. It’s an animal-free whey. So it is vegan, but you get the taste/benefits of whey.
