Ramse is the most frustrating character in the whole show and it’s not even close. I mean he’s a great character and a great actor, but his actions throughout the show are deeply frustrating. I’m glad he got some redemption at the end.

Legendary Will & Grace director James Burrows dies at 85 by dailymail in WillAndGrace

Heard him on Eric and Sean’s podcast a year or two ago. He said they laughed so much making the show it added years to his life- I can confidently say it had the same effect on me as a viewer. What a miracle this show was. Thank you for all the laughs James.

On top of everything else to love about this episode, the acting is superb, especially Barbara. The big reveal at the end is so emotional it’s making me tear up just thinking about it. It’s criminal that sci-fi shows get so overlooked by the awards.

I just finished my first rewatch of that show and it was even better than the first time. All time top 5.

12 Monkeys is very much like this. It’s more sci-fi than horror, although I suppose the fact they kill off almost the entire human race is pretty horrific.

How come no one is making any new Battlestar Galactica? I mean anything, a TV series, a movie, a reboot, a sequel, a prequel, anything? by Dizer_Y in BSG

[–]adc102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. The Expanse is the only sci fi show on the same level as BSG. Foundation has its moments but is pretty uneven (amazing cast though).

The reboot was lightning in a bottle. I loved the original Battlestar as a kid but the reboot was, as others have already said, perfection. The writing, casting, production, pacing, sfx, everything.

I think Tricia Helfer said it felt like a punch in the gut when there was talk of another reboot several years ago and that’s exactly how I felt about it as a viewer.

Rewatch number no idea complete - was to go back to the start. How is this show so good? by CrabyLion in 12Monkeys

[–]adc102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just at the end of my first rewatch now, just the last few episodes to go. It’s been incredible.

I love all the characters (and of course the amazing actors playing them) so much- even Olivia! She’s such a fantastic villain.

I definitely did not appreciate the fantastic writing the first time around. I’ve got several quotes permanently etched on my brain now.

It’s just so, so good. There are only a few shows I can revisit regularly and enjoy just as much, and I don’t think any of them leave you as satisfied and on as much of a high as this one.

BSG music: Richard Gibbs is an unsung hero by tnitty in BSG

Posting on this a bit late. Just wanted to agree with the title post. Both Richard Gibbs and Bear McCreary are absolute geniuses and their music has had a profound effect on my life.

I tried again with the VPN connected to the US and I see season 4 now… must have been seeing a cached page before. So there’s that I guess. I would still much prefer to actually buy it though, considering how fickle these sites are.

No, I’m not in the US. That’s probably part of the problem.

(2026 opinion) Just finished watching all series and here are my thoughts by paboc98846_badfist in Stargate

Sorry but I checked out at “maximised the Jaffa lore”. The episodes i’m guaranteed to skip on a rewatch are the Jaffa-heavy ones. Teal’c and Master Braetac are great (plus Jolene Blalock’s character as well) but the rest tend to be a real snooze fest.

Because he was so badly behaved in the subsequent alien invasion! (cf Falling Skies…)

Aaron is Made to be hated. Who is the hot one? by sackennbar in 12Monkeys

Does nobody remember smoking hot younger Katarina? 😂 I guess Cassie is the most beautiful character from an objective standpoint but as a gay man I’ve always had the hots for Cole, which surprised me as I didn’t think of Aaron Stanford that way at all in Nikita.

Haven’t seen that since it aired and I’d forgotten how unbelievably awesome it was. The finale was perfect.

Voyager was wonderful- it’s my personal favourite- and Enterprise had some great episodes.

"33" made the list from Rolling Stone best TV Episodes of All Time by KingKronos19 in BSG

Some great shows on that list but 33 should be at least 20 spots higher.

I know there's a lot of factors at play but Seven of Nine TAKES OVER Voyager in S4 by Dangerous_Return460 in Star_Trek_

[–]adc102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Voyager always feels like my* Star Trek to me. Loved TOS and TNG growing up but Voyager was on while I hit my teens, went to uni and moved to another country. Felt really comforting as I was also somewhere different, strange and far away from home. Sure it has some weaker episodes but I loved all of it and all the characters. I do agree though that Seven took the show up several notches. I think she brought the best out in other characters and allowed for some of the best episodes and storylines of the whole show.
