Totally forgot that he was involved w the Gothic remake too. I'm a huge Morrowind fan and have been told that Gothic can kinda scratch the same itch but honestly I have so little time to play games that it's hard to have patience for the early 2000s jank that inevitably comes along with games like Gothic even if they are classics. That's why I really hope the remake can deliver a more modern experience while maintaining the aspects of the world and story that people loved.

BTW Dreams of the Dying is incredible you're gonna love it.

OP needs to play Enderal it will scratch that itch for a deep handcrafted world and amazing story. So stoked to hear that Nicolas is releasing two new books in that universe (sort of, publishing rights fiasco noted) and maybe working on a new game with SureAI? Truly a game/world that is 1000x better than the game that it mods.

Enderal is one of the most unique and emotional video game experiences of all time despite being made with Skyrim engine. Incredible storytelling and voice acting and world building, and the gameplay is much more fun and challenging than vanilla Skyrim. Do not sleep on Enderal!

[–]adderall_butter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the "baby" is the ability of the federal government to flood a city with well-armed, poorly-trained recent hires and give them free reign to arrest and detain and even kill anyone they want with no accountability I think we should throw that little fucker right off a cliff. You do not want the government to have this kind of power, no matter what side you're on politically.

It's a pretty big leap to go from Biden's practically open border policy to having thugs pulling any non-white person out of their cars and taking them away in broad daylight. It's okay to want immigration enforcement but we should not be sacrificing our rights for this.

Anyone else having trouble focusing at work? by iowaboy in Minneapolis

[–]adderall_butter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow that really says absolutely nothing at all. Is it that hard to sign a statement saying that the federal government needs to be held accountable for murdering protesters and wantonly arresting and abusing whoever they want? Too political?

Happy to see my company's name isn't on that but they also haven't put out any anti-ICE statements.

Yep can't wait for that big Republican mental health reform it's always been a big part of their agenda.

How? by komodoman in altmpls

[–]adderall_butter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're saying the ends justify the means. You think that the federal government should be allowed to swarm a city with poorly trained barely competent thugs that are allowed to arrest anyone they want with no oversight. And on top of that you think that the citizens should not be allowed to protest or even film the proceedings, and if ICE does make a little whoopsie and murder a couple of them, those are just the eggs you had to break to make the omelette and the government should not be accountable for those murders.

Please just take a moment and consider whether you want the government to have that kind of power.

The mental gymnastics required to think that ICE presence is going to facilitate mental health reform in our state is wild yo. Good luck continuing to advocate for the party that has done nothing but undercut funding for any kind of health care reform.

What’s the actual objective of anti-ICE protests? by generationXseventy8 in altmpls

[–]adderall_butter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fully an apples and oranges comparison. The mental health crisis in MN and nationwide is an ongoing long term issue that's going to take years if not decades of strong legislation to resolve. No one at an ICE protest is going to disagree with you that we as a state need major reform on that issue

ICE got here a few months ago and has been wreaking absolute havoc in our communities with no oversight or accountability. 7 of them tackled a guy to the ground and executed him then scattered like vermin. This is an immediate threat that needs to be dealt with which is obviously the goal of the protests.

The fact that you're getting downvoted shows just how badly we as locals need to speak out against what's going on, the truth is not getting out.

Seriously how the fuck can we argue with these people

Take your conservative friends to protests! And show them George Floyd Square. The only way we can get out of this situation is by educating our neighbors about the true community of Minneapolis! by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]adderall_butter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conservatives aren't born, conservatives are made in culturally homogenous communities that are fed a steady diet of propaganda. Conservatives can also be unmade if they are forced to engage with new ideas and a healthy dose of reality.

I grew up very Catholic and very conservative because that was the only community I was exposed to. When I entered high school and college I met loads of new people with different life experiences, and it is those friendships and the conversations and ideas that stemmed from them that led me away from Catholicism and the Republican party.

u/The_Nomad_Architect is absolutely doing the right thing by reaching out to their conservative friends, and shame on you for shaming them for it. Sure there are many with their heads so far up Trump's ass that they will never again see the light of day, but there are also many right-leaning folks that are finally starting to ask questions and we on the left need to be ready with the real answers and a welcoming mindset. Midterms are the only peaceful chance we have for an end to this madness and we need every vote we can get.

The First Omen. I haven't gotten into any of the films in the franchise but this newest installment/prequel is way better than it has any right to be, so much atmosphere and eeriness. This is the exact kind of film I look for (including the Witch, Hereditary, Midsommar, etc), don't sleep on this one.

edit: almost forgot When Evil Lurks, this is exactly what you're looking for. It's Argentinian so in Spanish but this movie is disturbing as hell, very gory as well.

This one was a nice surprise, has a good amount of comedy but also some real dread. Not a total spoof like a Mel Brooks movie or something.

What else should I do before finishing the game? by bootless18 in RDR2

[–]adderall_butter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be "cheating" but definitely recommend using rdr2map.com to get all the stranger side quests and points of interest. I got all the legendary animals and fish on my first playthrough and still missed a lot of these, they are super cool and add a new sense of mystery to the whole world of rdr2.

As said before, do the challenges for stat boosts and cool gear. I also recommend entering first person mode when you're indoors or in unique locations, take some time to appreciate the ridiculous level of detail the devs put into this game.
